Description

Welcome to “Stitch by Stitch,” a fun and friendly 6 week sewing course designed especially for children! Whether children have never picked up a needle or are already dreaming of making their own clothes and toys, this course will guide young sewists through the basics of sewing, all the way to creating colourful, handmade projects to be proud of. Introduction to Sewing: Sewing is an ancient craft that lets children create with fabric and thread. It’s a useful skill for fixing clothes, making gifts, and expressing creativity. In this course, children will learn everything from basic stitches to designing their very own projects. Sewing helps develop patience, concentration, and confidence—and it’s lots of fun! Lots of fun projects from: appliqué cushions, tote bags, pencil cases, buntings, felt greeting cards, stuffed animals, heart key rings, tutu’s, clothes appliqué, felt brooches and clothes. We are constantly introducing new and different projects to keep our young sewing bees engaged. Once the children have completed this course, they can graduated onto our ‘further’ stitch-by-stitch courses which will expand and increase skills of machine and hand sewing. This workshop takes place in our Sewing School. We have brand new Janome sewing machines for them to use, plus all the other tools, equipment and sewing ‘notions’. Parents/carers are welcome to stay in our reception area or come back later for collection. 6 x Tuesdays starting 2nd September 4-6pm. This workshop takes place upstairs in our new sewing school and I’m afraid we do not have a lift. We do have a toilet and refreshment station upstairs.
