Join us at Oast Studios Kent CIC as we open our doors with a series of inspiring taster classes celebrating traditional skills and craft heritage. This special introductory session, led by experienced fibre artist Flo Perrett, offers a hands-on journey through the fascinating process of transforming raw fleece into woven cloth. Perfect for beginners and curious crafters alike, this workshop gently introduces key techniques used in natural fibre preparation, connecting you to the full journey from farm to fabric. This taster class offers a glimpse of our longer in-depth course, which begins just after the May holiday.

What's included in the price?

• Handling Raw Wool – Learn how to sort, skirt, and prepare fleece for processing. • Carding Wool – Try hand carding fleece and preparing it for spinning. • Spinning basics – See a spinning wheel in action and have a go at turning fleece into yarn. • Weaving on a loom – Weave your own small sample using handspun or prepared yarn. • Tea and connection – Enjoy time with fellow participants in a nurturing, relaxed environment. All tools and materials are provided.
