Description
A follow on course to our beginners Cold Process Soap making for those of you who have made a few batches of simple soaps and want to move forward and learn how to create your own recipes using lye calculators and different oils as well as making layered soaps, more complex scent blends and colour swirls. You will develop 3 soap recipes using different oils, bespoke scent blends and use pigments, colour infused oils, clays and micas. Learning layering techniques and different types of swirls and how to trouble shoot problems. Suitable for people that have been on our beginners soap making workshop or who have made several batches of soap and are confident in health and safety aspects of soap making and how to make a batch of soap without assistance. As you will be working alone rather than in pairs there will be more making time and less talk time. You will learn: Properties of different base oils Use of Milk in soaps How to create a recipe with a lye calculator How to work out mould sizes and recipes for your own moulds or different types of moulds How to blend more complex scents using essential oils How to make colour infused oils How to layer colours in soaps How to create swirls and textured tops All materials and lunch and afternoon tea included Cost is £65 and the course runs from 10am - 4pm You will need to bring an apron, a large cardboard box (to insulate and protect your soap), 2/3 large towels or an old blanket
