Maker's bio

I have had a love affair with knives for a very long time, I have owned and used a multitude of knives ever since I was a small boy. I made my first knife while at school for my ‘O’ level metalwork project. I have been making knives on a semi professional basis since about 2000, and professional since early 2015. I forge my blades as well as stock removal, all of the knives I make are made in my own workshop, no one else is involved at any time in the production of one of my knives.

Chris H reviewed: Bladesmithing experience day

"Excellent one day introduction to bladesmithing. I was looking for an experience where the class was small and numbers were limited. Steve only has two students during the session and this truly leads to a personal experience. Steve is clearly very knowledgeable and his enthusiasm was evident from the outset. Steve was patient and supportive, regardless of prior experience and ultimately ensured our knives were of an amazing standard for us to take away. Thoroughly enjoyed the day and can appreciate why Steve has many people return for further days in his forge. Many thanks Steve! "

"Hi Chris Thank you for your review. I'm always really pleased when a student enjoys themselves in the shop with me. I'm glad that you are happy with the knife that you made and keeping the classes small allows me to keep the quality of the finished piece that a student makes to the highest standard possible. I hope you enjoy your time with your knife and you put it to good use. Kind regards Steve "

"Hi Phil Thank you very much for your review. I'm really please that Doug and yourself enjoyed your bladesmithing day so much. It was a pleasure to host you both in the shop. Trying to keep the day light, but still informative and helpling each student come away with the very best knife they can make is what it's all about. Kind regards Steve"

Sarah Rayner reviewed: Bladesmithing experience day

"Wow!! What a fantastic course! Steve is an absolute genius and the whole day was interesting and fun, I learnt so much and never believed that the piece of metal I started with would be a beautiful knife in a few short hours! A truly unique experience that I will never forget!!"

White Tiger Knives responded:

"Good morning Sarah Thank you very much for your review. You worked really hard to turn that piece of steel into a functional piece of art which I know will give you great service wherever you decide to use it. It's always great to hear how much students enjoy themselves while working in the shop with me. It was a pleasure to watch your hammer skills improve as the day went on. Kind regards Steve"
