I am a coppice worker in Pembrokeshire, West Wales. I am passionate about the sustainable management of woodlands using traditional methods and hand tools. From the wood I manage I make household items such as spoons, stools and garden gates.
"I really enjoyed my day in the wood carving a spoon. We were a small group of 5, well looked after by David. The approach was friendly, informative, supportive and safe. No question too silly, with a perfect pace of working through the stages. I am really pleased with my final creation, it actually looks like a spoon! I would definitely recommend this day to anyone seeking something creative, mindful and rewarding"
The Coppice Plot responded:
"Hi Rosie, thanks so much for your review. I’m delighted that you enjoyed the course and congratulations on your excellent spoon. All the best, David"
"This was one of the best workshops I have attended, really beautiful working area, friendly company and lots of new techniques to learn. I bought this as a birthday present for my boyfriend who is a beginner in spoon carving and he absolutely loved it, learnt so much and felt that it really enriched his passion for this hobby. Equally, David was helpful with those who did not have as much experience, supporting us at every step whilst not putting pressure on the process. I wholeheartedly recommend this experience particularly for those who enjoy crafts, a nice walk in the woods and meeting new people. "
The Coppice Plot responded:
"Hi Cristina and Richard, It was great to meet you both and I’m delighted you enjoyed the course. Thanks very much for the review and happy carving!"
"I really enjoyed the spoon carving course. I thought David explained each process very well and I even avoided cutting myself which is a miracle!
I loved the carving and could have continued into the night.
Thank you David for inspiring me to start up a new hobby, I will definitely be buying some tools. "
The Coppice Plot responded:
"Hi Anna, thanks you so much for your review. I’m delighted you enjoyed the course and are inspired to do more. Any questions feel free to give me a shout. All the best, David"
