"What an amazing day I spent with Jo making my footstool and also the brilliant conversations. Jo is a fantastic teacher and so inspirational. I absolutely love how my footstool has turned out. I have learnt so much and have gained so many skills to take forward. Also, I now have the confidence to start creating my own projects. Highly recommended for anyone wanting to learn the basics of how to upholster. Just get on one of the workshops if you can, you will enjoy it. Big thanks to Jo for a wonderful experience and an unforgettable day. "

"My sister and I attended the upholstery course. It was a small group and Jo created a warm, relaxed atmosphere which meant that we had a good opportunity to chat and get to know the others who were attending. Jo was very knowledgeable about her subject, gave lots of advice and guidance, and had lots of helpful tips based on her own experience to share. I came away from the workshop having had a really enjoyable day and feeling as if I had gained skills which I could use to undertake my own upholstery project, which is great! I love my new footstool 😊. The homemade cakes were an added bonus, thanks Jo’s mum! All in all a wonderful day which scratched my creative itch and gave me some new skills. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend and would definitely attend some of Jo’s other workshops."

"Just had a fabulous day learning how to upholster. Jo was so skilled at guiding each one of us at our own pace, I’m delighted with the footstool I made. It was brilliant getting to know the others attending the workshop, we had many laughs!!!! Jo is an excellent teacher and her enthusiasm is a joy. Just do this workshop if you can. 😊"

"I really enjoyed this course. It was a lovely friendly group of people, Jo's teaching was excellent and the Grappenhall Heyes setting was beautiful. The cakes were delicious too! While I've done quite a bit of basic DIY, I've always been nervous about using power tools and it was great to have a chance to use the small drill screwdriver. I'll certainly be buying one of my own now, and probably a few more of the items on the list."

"Spending a day with Jo at the Boho Shed's furniture painting workshop was wonderfully relaxing and mindful experience. I arrived with a charity shop cheap and cheerful practice piece and came away with something that now takes pride of place in my home. Not to mention bursting with enthusiasm and ideas for allsorts of projects and armed with a whole range of techniques and the hands on experience of applying them. Thank you Jo for your kind and generous teaching, I hope to join you on one of your upholstery courses later in the year."

"I thoroughly enjoyed this furniture painting skills course held at Grappenhall Heys walled garden. It's a great location for the course as it lends to the relaxed nature of the day. Jo expertly covered many different painting techniques, giving us the opportunity to practise some before applying our preferred effects to our own item. I made the mistake of taking along too large a piece to complete in the time so heeding Jo's advice to keep it small is paramount. I would recommend the course to anyone who enjoys upcycling and learning new skills."

"My partner and I had the pleasure of attending a DIY & Home Maintenance workshop with Jo a couple of weeks ago. The day went great, we learnt so much in the space of only a few hours and at the end felt so much more confident and empowered about fixing things around the house. The atmosphere was lovely, Jo was very attentive and made sure that each of us knew how to use all the tools properly with good technique. She also provided tea and delicious treats! I would definitely recommend Jo's workshops to anyone who is wanting to broaden their DIY skill set and become more self reliant. She is an excellent teacher! 😊"

"I attended the furniture painting workshop in Cheadle. It was a lovely workshop! Jo was thorough, touched on key techniques and, had boards for practicing and testing techniques which was one of the most helpful things for me! She’s a gem a of person, always there to guide and was very supportive when we got round to painting our piece of furniture! There was also lots of tea and cake which tied in so well with the beautiful day. I look forward to attending again and learning other techniques and also attending the diy workshop! So glad my hubby booked this for me because I might never have gotten round it otherwise!"

"I would definitely recommend this course to anyone! very informative and hands on experience, a good overview of different areas you might need to do any diy bits . you come away feeling very empowered to give stuff a go . Its hard to find anything in person for this kind of crash course so it's a great resource . the host is lovely and welcoming and the cakes were delicious :) "
