Steeky Meadow is a place for nature, crafts, and wellness. It is a managed woodland offering a location for learning about and experiencing nature, learning traditional craft skills, and gaining the benefits of being outdoors.
Steeky Meadow CIC is a registered Community Interest Company that engages with local community support groups and individuals. We aim to work towards nature regeneration; promoting low-impact activities, encouraging traditional bush-craft and land management skills, and giving back more to the land than we take from it.
"Great experience with Jack, he is clearly passionate about nature, the woodlands and enjoys sharing his craft skills with others. Beautiful setting to spend some time carving wood, I really enjoyed the day. Thanks Jack for your patience and welcoming learning environment. I would recommend."
Steeky Meadow CIC responded:
"Thanks for your kind words Tom, it was great fun carving with you! Hope your back continues improving!

"I was excited by the idea of carving a spoon and this course was great, despite this being my first experience of wood carving. Jack is a really good teacher, clear and patient, knowledgeable about technique and also how to use the tools safely. The setting in Steeky Meadow is beautiful and relaxing. We sat in the sunshine, but there was a spacious shelter that could have been used had the weather been less kind. A really enjoyable session and a self-made spoon to take home- thoroughly recommended."
Steeky Meadow CIC responded:
"Thanks for your kind words Jill! It was such a lovely afternoon carving in the sunshine with you!"
"This day was great! We were so lucky with the weather - we sat outside on logs - amongst the bluebells and spent the day carving a spoon and being surrounded by the nature of Steeky meadow. Jack was an excellent teacher - both on safety and carving techniques, so I am now the proud owner of a unique hazel hand carved, spoon! I may have to try a basket next!!!"
