"Fabulous day learning all about Raku firing. Richard certainly knows his stuff, and the whole experience was very interesting. We each chose 4 pots to decorate, glaze and fire, finishing off with reduction and cooling technique. The unpredictability of Raku firing means that the end result is a surprise, and quite honestly a delight. Came home with some stunning looking pots. Fellow potters for the day were also lovely, and made the whole experience even better. Loved it! Thank you Richard. I’ll be back I’m sure. "

"I took my two (adult) sons. We had a brilliant day. We learned a lot. Laughed a lot. And concentrated a lot! Went home with 4 pots each which we were really pleased with. "The Raku course led by Richard was super. Richard knows his pottery and answered all sorts of questions. He has a very pleasant manner, leads clearly and demonstrates when appropriate. There was plenty of opportunity for practical involvement without ever feeling rushed. A very informative, relaxing and enjoyable day. I fully recommend this course to anyone wanting to learn about and experience making Raku pottery. I drove nearly two hundred miles to get there and would gladly repeat the effort."

"The Raku day with Richard Gibson from Pottery Dayz was fantastic. Richard is very knowledgeable and is able to explain things very clearly. The day was really well organised but did not feel rushed. We were able to produce 4 finished pots using different techniques and were able to get involved with the firing process in a safe way. Lovely setting with good facilities. Very pleased with the pots I was able to glaze and decorate. Highly recommended."

"When I booked it for a gift experience we really didn't know what to expect. When we arrived we were welcomed by a lovely group, 7 of us in total. Step by step we were guided by Richard using different glazes etc to produce so many effects. I would definitely recommend the day and we left with 4 pots each, all different in styles. Richard and the group made it a very special day. We stayed in the Cross Keys pub in the village (5 mins from course venue) and got complimentary breakfast £10. A lovely gem of a village too."

"Had a great morning, learning the basics of using a wheel to throw a pot. Good atmosphere in the workshop area, a simple but effective set-up. Clear instruction given and great patience shown by Richard with the number of attempts needed to arrive at a recognisable outcome, mainly pots but a few dishes thrown in. Positive feedback after each attempt. All 5 students arrived at one or two successful results by the end. Now, need to go back to glaze the pots at a later, to be arranged date."
