I trained as a cabinetmaker 50 years ago.
As a mature student, I obtained a first class honours degree in antique furniture conservation and restoration. I set up my business, Peter White Furniture, where for the last 20 years I have been restoring and upholstering antique furniture for clients. Now in my upholstery studio, and under the name of 'The upholstery tutor' I offer upholstery courses where students will learn to upholster their own chair using traditional techniques and materials. Based in a rural setting overlooking the Warwickshire countryside.
"We really enjoyed reupholstering our dining chairs. Thanks to Peter's excellent teaching & guidance we now 4 beautiful chairs which are much admired. There are a maximum of 3 students per session so everyone gets individual attention. Peter's attention to detail means that our chairs look as though a professional has reupholstered them even though they were our first project. This is a great course - the 5 star reviews are completely justified & I would have no hesitation in recommending it."
"I attended an assessment pre starting an upholstery course with Peter. Having had no previous experience, it was well worth the time. It gave an opportunity to understand what the course would involve; what I could expect to learn, the commitment required, as well as the terms of the course. Peter was very informative and helpful, enabling me to evaluate my needs and options. I am looking forward to acquiring my project and starting the actual course."
"Peter was a great inspiration and I can't wait to enroll on the course "
