In 2009, Rhian Goodhand stepped into Swansea University’s Glass Department for a night class—she walked out knowing she had found her calling. After 25 years as an IT manager, that moment changed everything. Within two weeks, she enrolled in a BA in Architectural Glass.
After graduating, Rhian founded The Goodhand Glass Studio in 2013, developing warm glass techniques that balanced uniqueness, affordability, and sustainability—keeping her studio’s carbon footprint as light as a mark in the sand.
Then, in 2022, another challenge—bowel cancer. But just as she had reshaped her path before, she met this battle with resilience and creativity, painting through her recovery. And she won.
Beyond glass, Rhian’s heart belongs to the sea. Sailing, adventure, and new horizons fuel her spirit. Like glass, the ocean is unpredictable, full of movement, and endlessly inspiring.
Her love for life, colour, and transformation shines through every piece she creates—a reflection of her journey, strength, and reinvention.
