"I was a complete novice at upholstery before attending the 5-hour beginners’ course at ‘Loft to Loved’ in Sedgefield. We were a small group of strangers, all with chairs in hand, ready to transform our rather sad-looking items into something lovely. Kim made us all feel welcome; the atmosphere was relaxed, friendly, and professional. Crucially, Kim explained everything with great patience and took the time needed. At the end of the workshop, I left with a feeling of achievement, pride, and satisfaction – not a minute wasted! I can only recommend ‘Loft to Loved’ and the upholstery for beginners’ course. I will be back…"

"Amazing to be shown how to make a quality lampshade in such a short time. Kim was extremely friendly, approachable and helpful. Because of the small numbers (4) in the group was able to provide any individual support that was required. I was delighted with my finished lampshade which looks so professional, so much so that I bought a couple of kits from the shop and came home and made a further two lampshades at the weekend. I used wallpaper I had recently used for decorating my bedroom and can stop looking for a suitable match now! Would highly recommend this course "

It was my first time tackling upholstery and Kim, our tutor, explained the tools and process in a very patient and friendly way. She was able to give each member of the class the time they needed for their individual projects as the number of participants was deliberately kept to a maximum of 4 . Each of us completed our projects completely or to a place where we could finish at home. I can’t recommend this workshop highly enough! "

My only criticism is there was a mix up with start times. Myself and another lady turned up for a 10am start and another lady said she had down 10.30am. But apart from that I will definitely be going back to do more courses."
