"A truly fantastic experience. This was a Christmas treat for my husband and 3 teenage sons. They had a brilliant day, the experience was better than they imagined, they have learned new skills and enjoyed every second. All commented on how well Richard planned the day, enabling each of then to make the sword they had in mind. 3 days on, and, despite the blisters from using a hammer all day, they are all talking about how much fun they had and what they will make next time! "Bought this course as a birthday present for my dad. It was really easy to communicate with Richard in advance and he was super flexible with the booking. My dad really enjoyed the day and he came away with a professional looking set of fire tools which he can actually use. We both liked that there was freedom to choose your own item to make, rather than it being specified and then potentially something not useful to the maker. Definitely 5 stars. "

"The 3 hour experience was a birthday gift for hubby and I decided to join him. I must admit I was a bit nervous beforehand as it is out of my comfort zone however from the moment I met Richard he put me at ease. He is very helpful, and encouraging. We made a boot scraper with a tall handle and a decorative piece on the side too. We’re very proud of it! Thank you Richard "

"An absolutely fantastic sword-forging experience for me and my partner. Richard was really friendly, and helped us where we needed help but also let us have a go at it where we wanted to. Be prepared for some muscle fatigue, my hands were shaking from the effort but it was so satisfying! I'm disabled and started flagging at the end and he was happy to help finish some last bits off for me, which I really appreciated. There were two other people doing separate projects as well at the same time and it was interesting to see what they made. In the end we got some fantastic photos and some even more fantastic swords out of it! They'll go pride of place on our wall! "

"oh we had so much fun for our ironiversary (6 years). We made the most beautiful rose that The Beast (of "beauty and" fame) would have been joyous over. Richard was clear and practical and a very nice chap. The forge is great. Just a brilliant day. Loved it. There were some chaps making beautiful knives while we were there....might put that on my Christmas list. "

"I booked this mainly for my boyfriend to make a knife and we loved it. I was genuinely terrible at blacksmithing (couldn’t hit it hard enough, melted the entire thing multiple times) and Richard was so helpful in making sure I left with a knife LOL. Really fun day out and a great gift!"
