Maker's bio

I’m Ksenia, a textile artist based in Hove, working at the intersection of hand embroidery and contemporary textile craft. While my roots are in traditional techniques, I’m not interested in preserving them just for the sake of it. I focus on adapting heritage embroidery for modern creative projects — and I bring the same mindset to my teaching. My goal is for students to create real, finished pieces (often wearable), not just samples or endless practice. I hold an MA in Textiles from the University of Brighton and have spent years developing methods that combine bold design with detailed handwork. My teaching style is direct and practical — no long introductions, just focused making — so you leave with something unique you can actually wear and show. My motto: “If I can do it, you can too.”
