"I had an amazing day – I loved every bit of it! The people were ever so friendly and welcoming. I came along to the open workshop to make something from scratch in wood. I haven't made anything since school, which was over 26 years ago! Today, I made a bird box.
Alan made it seem so easy – he was absolutely brilliant. He put me at ease and made everything look simple. I wanted to use as much machinery as possible, and I ended up using five, from a straight knife to a drill bit – it was all so much fun.
I highly recommend this drop-in session. Thank you Alan and to all who were there to make me feel so welcome :)"
Dukeries Community Workshop responded:

"What a lovely 3 hours fiddling with coloured glass, alongside lovely people and a gentle and supportive tutor. I smiled all through the session and will be back after Christmas.
Thanks and see you again soon......"

"I had an excellent experience at my first session doing woodwork. I was introduced to a variety of equipment and shown how to use them safely. I participated in using some of the equipment, was involved in measuring the wood and cutting it ...and went home with a sturdy birdbox. Although I needed 1:1 assistance, it was very generously given. I paid for the materials at the end of the evening and plan on returning next week."
Dukeries Community Workshop responded:
"Thank you for those kind remarks Mandy. It was our pleasure to work with you. Hope to see you again
Regards Alan "
