Moor and Sea is set on Exmoor five minutes drive from the sea at Lynmouth, surrounded by stunning views. Bridget is an artist working in glass, print and paint. As well as running her own workshops in stained and fused glass she hosts courses run by other artists in oil painting, batik and Indian miniature painting. These inspirational workshops are held in the lovely airy art studio at Moor and Sea Holidays with beautiful views over Exmoor. For those coming from further afield, we offer discounted rates for our self catering lodges making a wonderful creative short break.

"I didn’t know what to expect as I’m not an arty person and I’ve not painted before. As a beginner, I found the instruction clear, enabling me to try out the basics for myself. The techniques are amazing and I couldn’t believe how much there was to it…I’m not surprised our fantastic teacher Sam has spent decades developing her skills, as her painting samples are breathtaking. All materials were provided and we were looked after as valued guests by Bridget, of Moor and Sea Holidays. The hospitality was exceptional and I would recommend the accommodation on site. Lunch, prepared from scratch in-house, was wholesome and healthy…and the homemade baking, served at ‘cake-breaks’ are legendary."

"An absolutely inspirational course,full of useful information and ideas,even if you are a complete newcomer to batik or (like me) have previous experience of it.Jo is an involved,enthusiastic and very approachable tutor,willing to answer any questions ,and we all enjoyed the course hugely and will,I'm sure be doing more in the future.The accomodation was clean,comfortable,and had a beautiful view over Exmoor,and the home cooked lunches and homemade cakes were delicious.I can't recommend it highly enough."
