Hi there, I’m Sandy a 28-year-old blacksmith. I create functional metal items at my forge in Newbridge, Scotland. I began this journey to learn blacksmithing in 2019 after working in a corporate environment and seeking something more fulfilling. I love the challenges of working with metal and the things you can create. I have offered these courses in the past year to share my enjoyment of blacksmithing with others. "The axe making was a brilliant day. I had made a knife before and a few pieces at School but with Sandy’s help and instruction I managed to produce something more complex that I can use and will always be proud of. Sandy is knowledgable and a great instructor. He knows how much to intervene and gives clear instructions. His workshop is well equipped and he clearly enjoys teaching and helping students to make the most of their time. The teacher student ratio is generally 1:2. All materials and safety equipment provided. I really felt I had been taken to the next level of blacksmithing in just a few hours"
