Maker's bio

Adrian Wood artist blacksmith is a university graduate with a degree in fine art sculpture from The University of London. A chance visit to a blacksmith's forge gave Adrian Wood his first taste of blacksmithing. He recalls; ”From the first moment I hit the hot steel I knew what I wanted to do.” The Forge workshop is situated in the rural outskirts of Yarm, between Darlington and Northallerton so is easily accessible from the A1 or A19. Adrian is a mentor on the BBC 1 show Make It At Market.

"With temperatures reaching 32 outside imagine what it was like with 5 furnaces going all day. We hammered and sweated all day under the expert help of Ady and Andy. We were fed and watered thanks to Debbie. Went home with 2 flowers, of which very proud, and a few blisters but what a fantastic day. Thank you for keeping Heritage Crafts alive.
