Lynne reviewed: Beginners' pastel painting workshop at fabulous Glasfryn Hall, North Wales

"I was drawn to attend the workshop by appreciation of Dave's amazing skill as an artist; his honesty to detail, his bold use of colourful sunrises/sunsets, sense of space and awesome light contrast. Although I have painted in pastels previously and attended other workshops in that medium, I still learned a great deal from Dave's unhurried instruction. Dave provided an extensive range of pastels and papers for us to use and, something that was very much appreciated - a quality double mount and protective covering for us to take away, safely, our completed pictures. Thank you, also, for the goodie bag with pastels and Jackson's pastel paper A4 trial pack. Lovely location and friendly people. I didn't get a chance to hold the puppy so I'll have to go back........"

Oriel Glasfryn Gallery Limited responded:

"Thank you, Lynne, for such a lovely review; I feel truly humbled. I'm glad you enjoyed the day. You were a great pupil in a group that was fun to work with. And yes, you must try and get back before the puppy turns into a big, smelly, adult dog."

Jenny reviewed: Upholstery and upcycling furniture and interiors

"My husband purchased an upholstery experience for me for a birthday surprise. The day was very relaxed yet very productive. In 6 hours I was able to transform a chair and learnt so much along the way. I wasn't quite finished, so Lucy equipped me with all the materials and knowledge I needed in order to complete my project. The location was fabulous and definitely added to the whole experience. I instantly felt at ease in Lucy's company. She was so patient and explained each stage so clearly to me instantly dispelling my fears about being a complete novice and having no experience. Thank you Lucy for a lovely day creating and learning about upholstery."

Lucy Renshaw responded:

"It was so lovely to meet you Jenny! Thank you for your kind reviewx"

Alice Simpson reviewed: Beginners Epoxy Resin Workshop

"Anyone contemplating doing anything with Epozy Resin needs to do this course. I learnt a huge amount in only 2 and a half hours. My only criticism was that I would have liked a hand out with everything I had learnt on the course. My 56 year old brain can only remember so much. Having said that, just make sure you take a pen and paper to write your own notes. Richard is such a great instructor. He made the course fun and interesting. Highly recommend."

"Attended this course with my mum and we had a great time designing and working out how to build our ideas into something we could make! Julie was really welcoming and talked us through the different effects and approaches. We really enjoyed the different techniques, and that we made almost every part of our designs from scratch. I love wearing my earrings and was chuffed to see them on the photo list for the course :)"
