Julie Walsh reviewed: Needle Felting course with FURZIE at Pirzwell Workshop, Cullompton, Devon

"I attended the needle felting course in Aug 2022 and was amazed at what was achieved in one day (with some help!) as a complete beginner. I brought home a near completed Airedale with instructions as to how to finish him at home. Michelle made the course fun and was full of encouragement. Dottie supplied lunch and was very hospitable. I would highly recommend this course and if you are a complete beginner, do not worry as you are fully supported throughout."

Claire reviewed: Free Machine Embroidery

"This was a great introduction to machine embroidery. Ruth is an excellent tutor, giving a good ratio of information and practice, and as a result of that, we got a lot done in the day. She also managed simplify and demystify the process, putting to rest all the nonsense I’d seen on YouTube! Her studio is comfortable and full of resources and beautiful examples of what is possible using the various techniques we practiced. I left the day feeling that I had everything I needed to know to begin to make my own textile drawings, and if I want more advanced tuition, I would not hesitate to book another day to learn more. "

Tom Findlay reviewed: Alien spoon carving

"A great course. A very relaxing and enjoyable day in which you become engrossed in mastering the tools and techniques and yes, you do come away with your own carved spoon that is immensely satisfying to make. Alan is a great teacher with a very calm and quiet manner as he runs through the day from that first chop of the log to the finished spoon. Well paced with breaks at just the right time. Excellent and abundant home cooked food throughout the day. Well worth the money."

Eve reviewed: Half Day Taster Stained Glass Workshop - for 121, 2 or 3 (friends)

"I thoroughly enjoyed my first lesson with Ruth – the 3 hour taster 1-2-1 workshop. It was so interesting and such fun that time flew by. The session was very easy going and at each stage of the process everything was well explained and demonstrated. I learnt lots and had fun along the way. Ruth is patient and explains everything so well and gives you the confidence and encouragement to do well. Her pace is spot on and the facilities are excellent. I enjoyed the course so much I have booked my next session, a full day 1-2-1! I have sent her my next design so that Ruth can design and have the pattern ready and I’m look forward to creating my next challenge to see how far I can stretch myself and have fun and confidence along the way."

Blue Skies Glass Studio responded:

"thank you so much for your lovely review Eve, it was such a pleasure to have you here and very much looking forward to seeing your next glass project come to life at our full day workshop!"

Sadie reviewed: Introduction to traditional stained glass (1 day) in Sheffield, South Yorkshire

"Absolutely could not rate this experience more highly! My Mum, Brother and I attended for my Mum's birthday gift and it was one of the best days we have ever had! We will be back to try some of the other courses on offer. Kate was a fantastic tutor, sharing her skills and expertise. She explained each process, as well as how weatherproof windows are made - which was very interesting! She was on hand for any questions, help or encouragement! We were all amazed to come away with something so polished and beautiful. As a wheelchair user it was completely accessible and my needs were totally considered - which was very appreciated! A wonderful experience and makes a lovely gift! Truly value for money! Can't wait to try the Tiffany style! "

"Took my 2 granddaughters to make a willow sunflower, not the easiest to make but there was plenty of help, the class was really good value as the kids were free while me and my husband made a willow sunflower too. Alison & Ruth reviewed: Lantern Making with Fused Glass

"My daughter and I did a half-day lantern-making workshop with Wendy and had a real blast. I've done this workshop before and was thrilled to have another go to try and improve my technique. It was my daughter's first try at fused glass work but as an illustrator she had a grand idea and pulled it off under Wendy's guidance and tuition. Wendy is always so patient and helpful which results in lovely finished pieces for everyone. The studio is in such a wonderful setting, you can't fail to feel 'restored' after a visit and the fact that you come away with something you've made yourself (even though you wait for a couple of weeks for it to be fired - that helps build the excitement!) just adds to your sense of well-being and achievement. I can't recommend Wendy's workshops highly enough - they are a tonic for the soul!"
