Carl longworth reviewed: Glassblowing Full Day Masterclass

"Where to start… it was incredible Beth was very welcoming and gave great insite into techniques used on some pieces I had the pleasure of seeing in the gallery which is also very much worth a visit there are things in there that don’t seem possible in glass Katie had the patience of a saint and showed us all how things were done with great directions and was always right there to get you back on track if you had any doubts. The atmosphere was always laid back and relaxed which is what an artists studio is all about. We all had lunch down by the canal which was also very nice much better than the old sandwich I had in the car on the way over. In short go on the course the atmosphere in the workshop is contagious it’s fun and very rewarding and I’d love to go back even for a visit to the gallery and see everyone again. Glass being worked is a beautiful art form and I highly recommend the course to anyone that has an interest in learning something new, have no doubt you will feel very welcome. "

Rafik Taibjee reviewed: Learn the Potters' Wheel in a Weekend

"Joss was charming. Easy to chat to and learn from. She was great at answering questions and spotting where we needed to work on. But was very encouraging and motivating. We learnt a lot and are tempted to get a wheel now. It would have been lovely to take home a souvenir but she only fires the kiln infrequently for ecological reasons which makes sense. Learning to make a spout and make a complete teapot would be a great way to conclude the session"

Powdermills Pottery responded:

"Thank you, Rafik. It sounds like you have been bitten by the throwing bug! "

Katie reviewed: One day Wood Carving Experience

"This was just such a hugely enjoyable day. Neither my husband nor I had any experience and we are both truly amazed by what two complete novices can achieve. The day was really relaxing – the concentration of the carving means your mind empties of all else. Pete is a great teacher and good at creating an environment where we felt comfortable and inspired. Lunch was fab and I had my coffee dependency fully catered for! Interesting conversation, absorbing work, and an end result we are both chuffed to bits with. A big thank you Pete – and yes, I’m currently musing on a design of my own I would love to carve."

Kath C reviewed: Get started with herbal medicine: an online course

"This course, together with the accompanying e-book, is a major piece of work and I'm very grateful to Sorrell for making it affordable like this! I'm not really a beginner myself in foraging and using herbs, but the course has consolidated my 'little learning' and taught me very much more. I'm sure I will keep going back to it now and again. The videos are a pleasure to watch. The course has been an insight into how a professional works, whilst Sorrel also provides glimpses into the wealth of traditional and spiritual aspects of healing with herbs, other than the basic chemistry (though she knows that too of course!). Thank you Sorrell. Kath C"

Lowimpact responded:

"Thanks very much Kath - glad you liked it. Dave, Lowimpact"

Mike Forster reviewed: French Polishing & Woodcare - 2 Day Beginners/Intermediate Workshop

"I brought an inherited mahogany flip-top occasional table and a small sapele toolbox I had made. The table top was split, but Ollie jointed and glued it up, not without some frustration and hilarity in equal measure. The dovetails on the box were less than perfect but, undeterred, Ollie showed me how to fill the gaps and touch up the filler until one can scarcely tell it has been done. He is an excellent and patient teacher whom I can thoroughly recommend. Both my pieces are transformed."

Mark Tarsey reviewed: French Polishing & Woodcare - Beginners Course - 1 Day

"Five stars is not enough to reflect our experience. The course exceeded all expectations. Ollie is a great tutor, giving just the right amount of guidance without being overbearing. Plenty of demonstration and explanation with ample time for you to work on your piece. A relaxed experience and we have come away with hints and tips on how to apply the skills more widely in our future projects. We will be back to expand on this course. "

Sarah Maitland reviewed: Beginners 1-day pairs woodturning workshop

"My son and I had such a wonderful day on the beginners woodturning course. Simon was very kind and patient with us and his teaching is fresh and enjoyable. I love the bowl I crafted and will be able to use it and be reminded of our day and I’ll never look at any woodwork again without thinking about how it is made! "
