Katy and Claire reviewed: Silver Stud Earring Duo Workshop with Lindsay Forbes of Laconic - Durham

"Thanks Lindsay - my sister and I thoroughly enjoyed our earring making workshop with you and have both come away with 2 gorgeous pairs of earrings that have already been admired by friends and family! The location was relaxed and inspiring and your knowledge and tuition were excellent. My only other feedback is that we both felt a little rushed towards the end to pattern and polish our second set of earrings (but this may have been that we took too long to decide what style to make!!). We would love to come on another of your workshops in the future. "

Bench Box responded:

"Thanks for your lovely review ladies, I love that your earrings have been receiving lots of attention! They're all gorgeous. Apologies that you felt a bit rushed at the end, sometimes its easy for time to get away a little, room for improvement on my part, thanks again."

"I had a great day and learnt a lot. I had bought a book about tapestry weaving but nothing beats doing an in person course. As it was only a small group there was plenty of time for questions and demonstrations."

Pamela Print Woven Textiles responded:

"So pleased you enjoyed the day! Such a lovely group to teach. As I said, please do get in touch or pop by if you have further questions. Happy weaving! "

Brendan Patchell reviewed: Make a Welsh stick chair

"I thoroughly enjoyed this course in making a Welsh Stick Chair. Ben is very good at teaching and assisting to all levels. A week seems like a long time but you need to learn lots of skills, insights and gain experience and confidence. The setting deep in the woods, with the kettle on the fire, was a perfect environment to meet strangers and come away as firm friends. The icing on the cake was taking away a beautiful, hand made, unique Welsh Stick chair."

Lisa reviewed: Slate mosaic workshop at Jo Garden Art

"As always, this course was a fantastic day of crafting. Jo manages the balance of expert tuition within a relaxed and supportive environment. I’m a returner having already attended other sculpture workshops. This new slate mosaic workshop is yet another opportunity to create stunning pieces for yourself or as gifts. Mine were planned for the garden but far too impressive. They’ve taken pride of place indoors. Thanks, Jo and Andy, for a fun, welcoming and creative day. Very highly recommended. "

Jo Garden Art responded:

"Thank you Lisa - and, as always, an absolute pleasure having you working here in the studio on this new medium. And thank you for sending the photos so quickly of the pieces up on the wall back in your home. They work so well! See you in September! Jo x"

Martin reviewed: Carve a Wooden Spoon '23

"Beautiful setting and our instructors Chris and Paul were both excellent tutors and practitioners. All equipment supplied if you don't have your own and many practical tips and advice shared throughout the day - eg which woods to use, tool sharpening skills, tool use and especially the use of chrome polish as a honing paste..! Got to say not cheap at £75 but all in all a fantastic day. I went home and carved another spoon the very next day! Thank you."

Surrey Wildlife Trust responded:

"Thank you for your review Martin. I am so pleased that you enjoyed the day and that you are now hooked on carving!"
