Karen Stevenson reviewed: Beginners table loom weaving: 2-day Intensive workshop

"The beginner intensive table loom course is a wonderful first step into loom work. I knew next to nothing when entering and Pamela guided me/us through all the steps to thread the loom and offered advice on techniques, ideas and colours as we went. With a small class it really is almost one to one lesson. It really was a wonderful way to spend a weekend. I would thoroughly recommend. "

Pamela Print Woven Textiles responded:

"Thank you Karen for such a positive review. I thoroughly enjoyed teaching yourself and Robert. You really are a natural weaver."

Ann Bywater reviewed: Learn the craft of hand spinning with SylPho Crafters: Plying and Art Yarns

"I enjoyed this course very much indeed and learned a lot. We were all complete beginners. We had the opportunity to learn different types of spinning (finger spinning, drop spinning, spinning wheel). There were lots of different wool and plant fibres to experiment with. The course was tailored to our individual needs very well. Phoebe and Sylvia have garnered a wealth of experience and resources over many years and are excellent teachers. Cannot recommend it highly enough. And great value for money to boot!"

Grace Hutty reviewed: Willow Kindling Basket- Beginners Log Bottomed

"I really enjoyed this course and was very pleased to come home with a completed basket! Rachel is a very good teacher and demonstrated clearly what we needed to do. She was quick to spot errors and help us put things right. I think a takeaway handout with written information of types of willow, how to source material, further reading, etc. might be helpful, but overall this was a really good day and I thoroughly recommend it. "

Workshops in the Woods responded:

"Hello Grace, thanks for the review. Your basket was amazing. There was a comprehensive leaflet that I gave out to everybody but I did notice that you left yours on the table. If you want to send me a message I’m happy to put it in the post for you or I can arrange to leave it in the café at work for you to pick up. Hope to see you again on a future course"

Candy Quarry reviewed: Beginners half-day pairs pottery / ceramics workshop

"I came with my sister for the half day pottery workshop. Having never done pottery before we were complete beginners. Louise was an absolutely wonderful teacher. Explaining things so clearly and also supporting if we needed a bit of assistance with anything. Additionally, she is very warm and friendly and made us feel welcome and at home! The workshop is in a beautiful established garden which was the icing on the cake. This course is excellent value for money, we will definitely be returning. Can’t wait to see our fired and glazed finished products which will hold lovely memories for us. Thanks again!!"

Charlotte Woodland reviewed: One day Wood Carving Experience

"Honestly, this course with Pete was amazing. I honestly cannot fault him, this support and advice, or the environment at all. Pete made both me and my Aunty feel completely comfortable, encouraging our creativity. Even when I decided to do a dinosaur skull, even though I knew it was ambitious due to some of the finer details, Pete was always there on hand to help me, even when I needed a bit of superglue. Honestly, Pete was so pleasant to be around, I could tell everyone on this course was relaxed and enjoying themselves, plus the supply of tea definitely helped keep us going on such a hot day. Thank you so much, Pete, it was a pleasure to attend this course, and also for giving me a new craft to jump into."

"Paul is an extremely knowledgable leather worker, with lots of experience and many amazing tips !. It was a thoroughly enjoyable course and Paul showed us all the processes involved with kindness and patience. Our finished leather notebooks were amazing and this is all down to the wonderful tutor. I would definitely recommend this course to any one who wants to start working on leather. His course handout was also superb - with links off where to go to get certain tools and he also reminded us on the handout what each tool was for! . 10/10 course ."
