"I did this course as a complete beginner and it was excellent, I absolutely loved it. Pete is a very knowledgable and friendly guy who pitched the class at a perfect pace, and we had a laugh and a joke along the way. Some of the people on the course had done carving before but equally seemed to enjoy it and got a lot out of it. We all left at the end of the day with a couple of carvings, and I was very pleased with what I’d accomplished, it was much better than what I was expecting to achieve as a beginner. I have to mention the staff at the visitor centre as well, because they were incredibly friendly and went out of their way to make you feel welcome. Stanwick lakes seems like a very nice place to visit. I’d highly recommend this course, and can’t think of any part of it that could have been done better."

"What a fantastic course! Enjoyed every minute. Stef was extremely helpful, from giving me directions to the meeting point that avoided the clean air zone, to showing me where to park for free, just a short walk from the studio. He clearly explained how to use all the tools, how the different cam shapes worked & was very patient as I attempted all the power tools for the fist time. So pleased with my Fishing Cat Automata Toy. Thank you Stef for a fun workshop & being such a great host."

The feeling you get from holding an unworked piece of wood in your hands and then being shown step by step, how to work that piece of wood into something that is practical, useable, a gift or just a memory from that day is absolutely priceless.. Jake will teach you how to do just that. The fee for this course may seem a little steep to some, but believe me,......it's not. The time and effort that goes into this course from Jake is extremely worth it. He's very knowledgeable, patient, very down to earth and fun to work with . Jo was fantastically organised, down to the last detail, so the whole day ran so smoothly, in a friendly and supportive atmosphere and in such beautiful surroundings too. Thanks Jo! "I was looking for a new skill, and Julie and her circular sock machines ticked all the boxes. Julie is a patient and clear teacher with the added bonus of a being a great cook. Lunch was scrummy. I left the day confident that I will be able to conquer my machine and produce a decent pair of socks in no time. It is reassuring that Julie is at the end of an email if a query arises. "A wonderful half day spent in Louise's studio, creating beautiful pieces of jewellery using shell moulds, seaglass and metal clay. Louise is a very patient tutor, pitching the instructions to suit 3 generations (and helping us fix the bits we broke!) My 7 year old said "she is very helpful and nice to children and grown ups!" Would thoroughly recommend choosing a course with Louise :-)"
