Sarah Sandon reviewed: Roman Mosaic Workshop

"The Roman Mosaic half day course was very inspiring. I felt I made a great leap forward yesterday and the course unblocked my hesitancy to get started on what for me is a new venture. The studio is full of beautiful and varied mosaics made from all different materials, demonstrating the variety of possibilities. After reading several books about making mosaics, there was nothing like the face to face experience of being able to see the different sorts of materials and tools and learn some basic "tricks" to get off to a good start. Like how to make and use the template, important knowledge about how to place and space tesserae, when and how to clip bits off a tile, which things you need to be fussy about and how to make curves and borders look right. And to take home the mosaic you made during the day, where you have tried out some of these dos and don'ts, is very satisfying. I would thoroughly recommend the course. Oh and Adela is a great mosaicist, teacher and host. Thank you."

Moon Hare Studio responded:

"Thank you for the lovely review, it was a pleasure to teach you and so glad you gained useful knowledge in an enjoyable way. Goodluck with your mosaic adventures :)"

Karl Yates reviewed: Kitchen Knife Course

"I attended a kitchen knife making course together with a friend yesterday at Hand Forged Yorkshire with Dave Brearey. The whole experience from start to finish was fantastic. Everything from the communication, and preparation beforehand, through to the day itself, was clear, timely and very professional. Dave the instructor is extremely knowledgable and passionate about his craft; he is keen that clients get the fullest of experiences; he only intervenes when when required (but keeps it to a minimum), to ensure that clients stay safe and get something that they are proud of and is completely functional to take home at the end of the process. Dave is a really nice guy, that puts a lot of effort into quality of experience. This includes, the raw materials used, equipment on which activities are performed, and above all else safety for his clients and others. I would thoroughly recommend this experience. A really insightful and enjoyable experience."

Hand forged Yorkshire responded:

"Thank you so much for your amazing review Karl, it is greatly appreciated. It was fantastic having you both in the forge and you did an absolutely cracking job well done. So glad you enjoyed your day and I’m very grateful for your recommendation Kindest regards Dave"
