Elinor reviewed: Willow Chicken , Heron or Flying Owl Sculpture The David Hall

"Thank you so much Jo. It was a really fantastic day and I throughly enjoyed myself and came away with a chicken which I am extremely pleased with. Everything was so well organised and planned and the day flew by but we were all able to finish our chicken or pheasant. Plenty of tea and biscuits and a very pleasant environment. I will certainly tell people about the course and maybe you will see me on another one. "

Jo Sadler Willow responded:

Jane Blundel reviewed: Silver jewellery making class for beginners

"I'm amazed at how much I learnt in a day, I designed and made these earrings with Jonathan's excellent tuition. I would definitely recommend a workshop, it was a birthday present from my husband, and something I'd wanted to try for a long time. I'm now buzzing with ideas and would like to try making a necklace."

Salt Way Silver responded:

"You are always welcome back for some necklace making. Your earrings are getting lots of "likes" from the pictures we posted, so it looks like you have created a very popular design. It was a bit tricky but we worked on it together, and made something truly beautiful. Well done Jane (and thank you for the very kind review). Jonathan"

Claire Blackford reviewed: Round Shopper Willow Basket

"We had a great time making our baskets on Saturday! Suz explained everything well and was a patient teacher. The workshop was well paced and the small group meant we could all have lots of help when we needed it. The woodland setting is absolutely beautiful and made the day feel really special and stand out from other craft workshops. I thoroughly enjoyed the day and would love to go to another workshop led by Suz. Thank you :) "

"Loved this course, equally challenging and rewarding, three days of learning a new skill with a great teacher and a group of good people in a lovely setting and comfortable, well equipped workshop. Sarah is a very good supportive teacher with a great teaching style that made the days very relaxed and enjoyable, plenty of good humour for a good group dynamic with a very nice carving to take home at the end.. Many Thanks"

Jeremy reviewed: An introduction to flint knapping

"Jonny's intro to flint knapping was excellent. Just the right mix of teaching - the theory is more interesting than you'd think - and practical, fun, learning. If bashing rocks together is your idea of a good time, then this is highly recommended."

Janey Wilks reviewed: Beginner’s Soapmaking Workshop in Trowbridge

"I've just done this course and had a really great time. Cat is extremely knowledgeable and an excellent tutor, she talked us through the process of soap making and then made a demonstration batch. In the afternoon we made our own two batches of soap with constant help and advice from Cat. She had a wide range of colours and essential oils for us to choose from plus high quality basic ingredients. The whole thing was really enjoyable and highly recommended. I'm still curing the soaps I made, but they are looking very promising. The course was much better than trying to learn from a book, and Cat is endlessly patient and really knows her soap making!"

Simon reviewed: Blacksmithing experience day

"Superb! What a fantastic day at Arian’s Forge- wonderful location and once you’ve left your car behind on arrival you could have teleported backwards in time a few centuries. Totally immersed in a completely authentic working blacksmiths shop learning in no short order the various disciplines of forging steel and ultimately going home at the end of the day with things you never dreamt you could fashion yourself out of a bit of metal bar. Cannot recommend highly enough. "

Alison reviewed: Blacksmithing Introductory Workshop - One Day

"I had a fantastic experience on this course. I wanted to do something different and this certainly covered it. Really enjoyable. There were only three of us so we had almost individual tuition. John was very observant of what we were doing and took us step by step though the different processes which built up our skills throughout the day. We made various items using these skills and combined them at the end of make a toasting fork. I'd recommend this course to others."

Stanwick Lakes Art and Craft Courses responded:

Pip reviewed: Pottery throwing course in the South Downs National Park (one day - one-to-one)

"The one day course was a real treat - such fun going from complete beginner to throwing a pot with the excellent guidance of Rowena. This gave me a very good and real view into the very many stages it takes to make a pot and the skill required. The only improvement would be if there could be an optional subsequent half day to apply the glazes, but I appreciate this may be a logistics nightmare."

Jeremy reviewed: Introduction to woodturning: one to one

"Had a fantastic day with Bill who is clearly very experienced in his craft. The only other time I’ve done wood-turning was at school and that was over 45yrs ago, so his coaching style & guidance (not to mention patience!) helped me produce a lovely bowl. Would highly recommend this course for anyone who may be interested in having a go. Thanks Bill šŸ‘šŸ»"

Anne Marie reviewed: Two day painting workshop in West Pembrokeshire with Kate Freeman

"I did the two day course with Kate at the end of August (sorry it's taken so long to post the review) and it was truly amazing. I came to the course as a complete novice with little or no experience, just an eagerness to learn. Kate was inspiring with her enthusiasm and an excellent teacher as she guided me to experiment with colour mixing and explore different techniques and exciting new ideas. Kate introduced me to new ways to create interesting and fun ā€˜art’ with different mediums and materials, I learnt so much about what I can do when I allow my creativity to happen, encouraging me to carry this on at home. Spending two days with Kate was an absolute pleasure, we chatted about everything, her knowledge of and passion for art is unlimited and infectious. Kate is the perfect host, her beautiful light and cosy studio will put you at ease, not to mention the lovely cakes, lunch and tea (wine!). I cannot recommend this course and Kate enough, if you want a wonderful experience then do not hesitate to book it now. Thank you Kate and I hope to see you again soon!"

Coach House Studio responded:

"Thank you Anne-Marie! I'm glad you gained so much inspiration from our time together in the studio. It was a great weekend - I thoroughly enjoyed your company, and it was very rewarding to be able to introduce you to ideas and techniques that will give you material to work with in the future. It was lovely to see you getting excited about rediscovering your creativity - you produced a really impressive variety of work in two days! I look forward to your return visit, for 'part two' šŸ˜‰"

"I thoroughly enjoyed my day learning to make soap at the lovely Discovery Centre. The day was excellent value, I learned a lot about the soap making process and would feel confident making it at home. I came home with lots of gorgeous smelling soaps and instructions on when they can be used. Rachel was very enthusiastic and passionate, this showed in her instructions. She was always happy to answer questions, indeed encouraged them."

Michelle reviewed: Two day (consecutive) stained glass starter course at North Norfolk Stained Glass

"Paul is an exceptional tutor, he manages to impart information in such a way that you are completely absorbed. He also had the knack of knowing exactly when to offer support and when to just let you get on with your piece. The resources and information provided were excellent and the small group size (4) allowed us all to leave with beautiful, finished pieces. I loved learning to make a stained glass panel and can’t wait to try out my new skills. Thank you!"

Sue McIntyre reviewed: Small outdoor plaster hare sculpture kit (30cm) with full video instructions by Jo Garden Art

"I was gifted this for my 40th birthday. I must say, it’s the most fun I’ve had crafting! The online video was so helpful, I loved being able to rewind and make sure I knew what I was doing. Jo puts together a great box, full of everything you need if you are doing this from home. The instructions are super clear too! I ran out of nothing and have so much spare plaster I’m going to get creative with it! Thank you so much! I HIGHLY recommend this kit! "

Jo Garden Art responded:

"Yay! Thank you so much for taking the time to write this lovely review Sue. It takes a little courage to start the kit as it seems to be complex, but as you found out - the process works! Happy creativity with the plaster. Jo xxx"
