Mrs Sharon forster reviewed: Woven bag workshop workshop with Rachel Davies

"I attended Rachel Davies' craft workshop and found it to be a great way to get creative, providing both mental and physical stimulation, and a useful opportunity to meet people. I attended the Bunbury Weaving Workshop to get some help to start off a new hobby, and I made new friends in the process. Rachel specifically aimed her teaching to be inclusive and in particular I found it easy to follow, being visually impaired.. It was a fantastic and fun activity and just one of the range of workshops that Rachel teaches. It was great that this activity of beautiful bag weaving could be carried out by all ages and abilities and it did not matter that I have limited mobility. Not only was the workshop enjoyable, it added much needed variety to my day, and I was actively encouraged to employ the use of my more active senses, such as touch, hand dexterity and skills that I risk losing, if not actively maintained. We all created a beautiful piece of art in the form of a gorgeous handbag, while listening to yoga music, eating treats and chatting with new friends. Plus, the final products was photographed by Rachel and could be given out as gifts!"

Rachel Davies Studio responded:

"Hi Sharon, thank you so much for this lovely review, I do really appreciate it. I'm so glad you found the workshop so rewarding and I'm glad you feel it is an activity that you will be able to develop. Very best wishes, and thanks , Rachel"

"I recently did the beginners leather craft course which was amazing. Pippa was so informative, she presented a great explanation and demonstration of the many tools, techniques and leathers, it was a great introduction to the craft. It has given me ‘the bug’ for leather work and I now want to develop it into a craft hobby, thank you for the inspiration. I’d recommend Pippa to anyone setting out or developing their craft or knowledge in leatherwork. Thank you for a great day ! 😁🤩"

Paul Coghlan reviewed: Beginners 1-day 1-2-1 woodturning workshop for 1 person

"I had a fantastic day with Simon! The tuition was outstanding and I was shown all I needed to get started. Simon then allowed me to execute a test piece, helping me as and when it was needed. He then demonstrated the honey dipper, after which I made a dipper of my own. After a lovely buffet lunch, Simon got me started with turning a bowl, then allowed me to proceed with help from time to time. At the end of the day I had two pieces of work to take home. "

Holly reviewed: Basic blacksmithing course

"Absolutely brilliant day in a real working forge! My partner & I went along to a 1 day ‘basic blacksmithing course’ for my partner’s birthday and it was fantastic! We both came away with blacksmith knives that we can’t wait to both use & display. I needed quite a bit of help as I’d never done anything remotely like blacksmithing before but both Joss & Gary were more than happy to help at every single stage. We couldn’t recommend this course more! 😊"

Mel Beaumont reviewed: Fascinator Hat millinery workshop

"I had a fabulous morning learning from Elena, her workshop is cosy and personal. Elena is so easy to get on with, the conversation flows as does the coffee! I'm an absolute beginner in the craft and her passion is addictive. I made a beautiful piece, and learned a lot of skills in the few hours I had there. My plan is to practice fascinators for a few months and head back to the workshop to learn about felt work with her. I would highly recommend this course, thank you! "
