Connie and Bev reviewed: Daytime glass fusing workshop with Paula Andrews

"Absolutely amazing time was had by myself and my friend. Paula has the patience of a saint for the more clumsier of us! She explained clearly and showed what we we would be doing and how. Lovely cup of tea as the class started and we did thoroughly enjoy the class. If there is anything wrong with our work, rest assured it is not any fault of Paula. Thank you for a wonderful glimpse into frit and associates! We also look forward to taking a class with you again . "

Paula Andrews responded:

"Thank you so much for your wonderful feedback Connie and Bev. Glass glass works are ready now."

Kate Morton reviewed: Crafty Basketry's Willow Basket Making for Beginners/Improvers - Day Course at Cowshed Workshop, Tenterden, Kent

"We had the most wonderfully relaxing day with Marianne, making a basket that, even though I say so myself, looked remarkably good! Marianne made the day most enjoyable, with just the right amount of help when needed and there was lots of chatter and laughter. A very positive experience and I will do it again. "

Crafty Basketry responded:

"Thank you so much for your lovely review and recommendation, Kate! Fabulous basket you made with actually very little help from me. You picked up the techniques quite easily and were a joy to have on the course. Look forward to the next one with you. May I challenge you with the making of a lampshade, perhaps? :D"

We then developed our pieces with full support from Sally helping us to break or cut the glass most effectively. She enabled us relax and enjoy the activity. Really looking forward to seeing the product once fired."

"Fantastic day making a willow hare with Rachel Harwood. She was fantastic at making sure we understood each stage of the process and got us through the whole day on time. Paula reviewed: Introduction to Frame Loom Weaving

"I spent a lovely relaxing day on this beginners' weaving course and enjoyed every minute. Alice is a great tutor who explained everything clearly and fully and was patient while I grasped the basics. The day covered everything I had wanted to learn, how to set up the loom, how to weave with different colours and patterns and how to finish the piece of work. I am now ready to practise alone but would love to do another workshop. The venue is excellent, close to public transport links in Portsmouth's Historic Dockyard. A great day, thoroughly recommended. Tim Whitbread reviewed: One Day Leather Bag Making Workshop

"I had a great time on the 1-day handbag workshop. I had never worked with leather before but Sarah was an excellent tutor and the small group size meant that there was always help at hand. The lunch included in the price was excellent and the tea/coffee/squash was always on tap. What was really nice was the completely free choice of pattern, leather and hardware to enable you to make a truly unique bag. An excellent workshop with an extremely professional tutor!"

Jayne Nicholls reviewed: Bring Your Own Upholstery Project - 1 day workshop - Week Days

"I am in the process of reupholstering the arms of a Parker Knoll armchair and recovering the rest of the chair and have really enjoyed the process so far under Sarah's diligent guidance. The classes are small so you don't spend time waiting for Sarah's advice and she is an excellent teacher. If you're thinking of pursuing an upholstery project I would 100% recommend booking a course with Mode Upholstery!"

kath reviewed: One day blacksmithing course in West Wales

"I had an absolutely brilliant time on this course. Never done any craft courses or blacksmithing before. It was great to meet other people, chat about all sorts and learn how to make things with hot metal. Aaron makes it look easy but explains everything really well, provides help where needed and lets you get on with things if you don’t. We all made some great hooks and fire tools. I am absolutely chuffed to bits with my toasting fork which will be a lasting memory of both the course and my 50th birthday present from some great friends. 100% recommend this!! "

A and T Petersen Ltd responded:

"Delighted to read your lovely review, thank you. Happy 50th too 😁"

"Absolutely brilliant! Well worth the money and the trip down to Hitchin. My partner and I booked on the course as beginners, we both thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and learned loads! Oli is professional, welcoming, helpful and super passionate about his craft, it's infectious. He explains each stage really well and gets you involved practically so you are fully immersed in the whole process. I'm currently looking to book on his advanced workshop in the near future."

James reviewed: Creative metalwork and welding, scrap metal sculpture.

"I selected this course as I wanted an introduction to metalwork and sculpture. All joining instructions were clear. Was met by Izzy and Shar who were instructors for the day for our group of 6. The instruction was very clear and friendly and they were on hand all day to help both with the technical and artistic aspects of creating a metal sculpture. It was great fun and would highly recommend. I will probably go on and do another course in metalwork before deciding whether to invest in some kit. "

WTF Workshops responded:

"Hi James, thank you for your kind review! We are so glad you enjoyed the day and it was great having you in the workshop. Let us know if you carry on with metalwork, we'd love to see any future projects! "

Annika reviewed: Bladesmithing Experience Day

"Fantastic thing to be able to make your own knife. David and Decklan were excellent teachers - giving clear instructions and explaining the process then letting you get on with it but stepping in to help when asked and giving tips. A great 40th birthday present for a friend and we’ve both come away with knives we’ve made ourselves that we can use and keep for years to come."

Clarke Knives responded:

"You both did really well and went home with great knives 😊😊"
