Karen White reviewed: Half-day 1-2-1 sharpening (woodturning gouges) workshop for 1 person

"This is my second course with Simon. 1st was a full day beginners turning, this week was sharpening. Well what a mess I had made of my tools at home, but Simon has given me the knowledge to be able to purchase equipment I need and be more confident. Thanks so much. I can't recommend Simon any higher"

"Hi Karen, So glad I could help you sort out your tool sharpening - they weren’t that bad! :) I hope the notes were useful; do get in touch if you need any further help. — Simon"

Kal Ratcliffe reviewed: Candle making workshops for beginners - St Albans, Hertfordshire

"A lovely morning spent with Anne learning about the whole candle making process from the types of waxes to use, choice of containers and choosing your fragrances. There is nothing better than hand pouring your own candles and bringing home your creations. A very fun and therapeutic experience in a small group setting. "

Faye Broadway reviewed: Glass Bead Workshop (lampwork glass)

"As a birthday present to me, and a Christmas present from myself to my daughter, we celebrated in style with this course. Received a warm welcome from Sarah (plus the other ladies there) and a cuppa also. Sarah explained everything to us about how we would proceed and also the H&S aspects also. Everything was extremely well demonstrated and explained to us. The colour choices were fabulous. Sarah watched over us and guided us through. I would wholeheartedly recommend this to anyone. We were delighted to see the beads and can’t wait to show them off. We will book a session again to do some independent making (though I’m sure we will probably ask for lots more advice)! Honestly an amazing experience. "

Carolyn reviewed: Traditional Footstool Course

"Just finished a 2 day Footstool workshop in Bristol. What a great experience. The classroom was made up of people making floor cushions, Eco footstools and Tradition footstools and others re-upholstering dining chairs and comfy chairs that they had brought from home. A great mix and lovely to see what you could do. So now looking around for a chair to re-upholster! Thank you for a great course and all your help"

Bristol Upholstery Collective responded:

Barb Cannell reviewed: Stained glass for all at the Cheshire School of Glass

"Bought as a gift for my sister - but decided to tag along - This probably was the best art course I have been on and I have delivered quite a few myself! Incredible, knowledgeable and skilful Practitioners, who nurture individuals through cutting and snapping glass - into an intricate bespoke stain glass, with all the patience of saints - set in a professional studio. Best two days I had for a long time -planning to return and try a variety of other classes - truly uplifting, inspirational experience - worth every penny "

Cheshire School of Glass responded:

"Thank you for taking time to write such a lovely and positive review Barbara, really looking forward to seeing you again. Jen, Kat and the CSG team"

Nicole Naylor reviewed: Candle making workshops for beginners - St Albans, Hertfordshire

"My daughter and I would highly recommend this course. It was well organised and we learnt a lot. It was a lovely way to spend a morning doing something mindful and craft based. It was a really friendly atmosphere and biscuits were also kindly provided! We made three candles and a wax melt and learnt about how to scent and colour them. Overall good value for money. Would definitely book again. "

Mary reviewed: Learn how to layer up, quilt and bind a quilt, table runner or placemat

"I had a really enjoyable day , with a friendly group. I learned all the skills needed with options of how to work through issues that arise and what isn’t a problem when putting a quilt together. I did a small project of placemats , but have a lot of respect for those who were assembling a full bed sized quilt. I had not realised how many skills are needed to finish a quilt. I would recommend this course to anyone wanting to dip their toe into understanding and learning the skills needed. The team were very helpful and helped to make difficult tasks become much easier. Viraaj Patel reviewed: Furniture making and Cabinetry beginners course

"Did this course with Jake on a peaceful Sunday. Jake was excellent right from the start with a warm welcoming smile and happy to just get stuck into the course straight away. He's such a knowledgeable guy and clearly loves what he does and it shows in how he delivers the course. We built an amazing coffee table and Jake explained all the various cuts and joints we would use, their purpose and how the specific tools are used for all the work. Overall it was an amazing, tiring, but extremely rewarding day and I would highly recommend to anyone with even a passing interest. Jake is a great instructor and such a lovely person that you will want to try your best and he will definitely get the best out of you. 5+ stars and definitely the best course I've been on so far."

Chari reviewed: Introduction to Stained Glass Workshop

"For me this was a good course for making a start on copper foiling techniques. I liked practising with clear glass before starting to complete my chosen design. This meant that I could be more confident when working on my final piece. There was a relaxed atmosphere and Sarah was attentive and patient. "
