Marta reviewed: Spoon Carving at Wilderness Foundation UK

"I booked this workshop as a surprise date for my partner and we had such a great time! Max is amazing at explaining anything wood-related and his friendly attitude and passion for wood carving made the whole workshop truly enjoyable. Starting from a block of wood, in 5/6 hours we managed to create beautiful spoons of different shapes! We loved having the opportunities to learn how to use all the tools for wood carving, from the axe to the hook knife. I recommended this workshop already to many of my friends and I’m considering getting the tools to start wood carving in my spare time! Thanks again Max, hopefully see you soon for another workshop! 😊"

Max Sconyers III responded:

"Thanks Marta! I had so much fun teaching you and your partner. It was a special group that day. You are a keen spoon carver. Let me know if you need any tool recommendations! See you again soon!"

"I booked this course for my son’s birthday as he wanted to learn how to make silver jewellery and I thought I would have a go too! The course was fantastic and was everything we were hoping. Roderick was very welcoming and explained the process very well. There were 4 of us in the class and we felt that Roderick was able to give us all his attention and he was very helpful and knowledgeable. Everything was included and we came away very happy with our new rings that were unique to us and excited that we were able to make a ring from scratch as beginners. Would definitely recommend this interesting and fun course, Thank you Roderick!"

Lynne is well deserving of her Platinum Award, her attention to detail was second to none, she had work stations set out for the three of us with all the tools/equipment required. In addition, there was a good selection of leather pieces, threads etc to choose from. I really wasn't sure that as a complete weaving beginner I would be able to make a functional and attractive basket, especially in a one day course, but I did and am absolutely delighted with the result. Jane was a lovely teacher and had lots of patience, supporting 9 attendees. We all appeared to get the support and attention we needed I think. I would definitely do this course again. Wish we had arrived earlier to look around the site, as it looks really interesting. Thanks "
