Tony Thomson reviewed: Introduction to Green Wood Furniture Making - 2 Day Course in South Devon

"What a fantastic experience! I rate this as one of the best courses I have attended. The hands on approach, the level of expertise, the positive attitudes and helpfulness of Peter and Jav, made it both enjoyable and educational. I learned a lot. It was great too to meet the other delegates. We were all looking to learn and that made for a great atmosphere. As someone who runs a training company, I can only hope that my delegates feel as positive about the courses we run? Thank you Peter and Jav for a great weekend."

Had Danner reviewed: Woodturning in Devon with Colin Simpson

"I am a senior citizen who has never used a lathe, but was always curious. My wife gave me a one-day introductory course with Colin, and I could not be more pleased. His patient explanations, demonstrations, and tolerance for novice mistakes gave me an appetite for much more. It was worth the trip from London to Devon, and were the distance shorter I would already have signed on for a followup."

"I went along with some friends and really enjoyed the day. I had no experience whatsoever but that didn't matter as Patricia was on hand all the time to guide us through. We had full use of all of her equipment - and the lunch was excellent. We are now saving up for the mosaic course!"

Sharon Hill reviewed: Feltmaking - OOH the choices!

"I really enjoyed my day at Barbara's felt scarf making course. It was my first time at wet feltmaking and it was brilliant. Barbara is a very experienced feltmaker/teacher, she talked us through each stage, step by step, I think that we were all amazed at how the felt gripped through the silk scarf and crinkled it up to create a beautiful texture. I love my scarf and wear it a lot, many people have commented on it too :-)."

Suzanne reviewed: Candle Making Class

"What a fantastic way to spend a couple of hours. Farah was superb, very bubbly, funny and keen for the class to get stuck in and enjoy a hands on experience. The candles we made were first class and smell stunning. I feel confident to have a go on my own. Our group expressed an intrest in her offering a starter pack, I hope she gives that a try. All in all a perfect few hours learning a new skill. Thank you Farah."

Gill Winsley reviewed: Plaster mould making for slip cast ceramics with Ed Bentley

"Ed was my tutor on a 2 day course at Potsclay last summer & I remember thinking 'what am I doing here as such a novice'? How wrong was I. I came back with a great mould from a complex plastic Italan bowl which I love reproducing from, but also with happy memories of the great knowledge, fun and confidence Ed gave us all. I definitely plan to go again & tackle even bigger projects under his expert eye! A real privilege to be taught by him."

Neil Beevor reviewed: Two day dry stone walling course for beginners in association with Dry Stone Walling Association of Great Britain

"After having wanting to learn the craft of drystone walling for many years I finally found time and enrolled on a course. From the initial booking to the completion of the course everything was first class, so much so I ended up joining the DSWA and have carried on practice with my local branch. The organisation of the course was carefully structured so that you understood the basic principles as you had hands on practice in constructing a wall which remains in place with a purpose. The small group numbers to instructors ensured you were well supervised but allowed to get on with the works. Would certainly recommend this course to anyone with an interest in this traditional skill. My advice is don't think about it just do it and book a course."

Sue Caunt reviewed: 6TH AUG: Needle Felting with Gretel Parker – Beginners

"This is one of the best courses I have done in a long time. Gretel is not only a very friendly, approachable person, but she is also highly skilled at her craft and at passing this knowledge on to mere beginners. She made the course enormous fun and we all went home with lovely things we had made under her guidance. After completing the beginners and intermediate courses with her, I was greatly inspired to return home and continue developing my felting."
