Alan Cheadle reviewed: Make a Windsor chair

"My wife encouraged me to sign up to an introductory green woodworking course last June, where I met Ben and found a real interest in woodworking that I had no experience in. He is a great teacher and got the best out of us and we all came away with a spatula and rolling pin. Fast forward through the 2 weekend stool making class and recent 10 week chair making course and I've come away not only with some nice pieces of furniture, but an appreciation and understanding of working with different types of wood, some very cool hand tools, and a new love of building with my hands from scratch. Whether you want to take on a completely new challenge and set of skills, have a bit of good fun, and/or add a bit of nice furniture to your collection - I highly recommend this course with Ben!"

Anna reviewed: Needle felting with Virginia

"Fantastic workshop - lots of freedom to get to know this addictive technique but skilled guidance when requested. Virginia provides plenty of inspiration and all the tools so within a couple of hours I had the basis for my lavender field picture ready to embellish at home. Hugely enjoyable!"

Diane Hall reviewed: Contemporary Panel (2 day workshop) at Old Bank Studios

"I absolutely love doing the work shops hosted by Bev and Nigel of Old Bank Studios. A truly wonderful environment with tutors that embrace their abilities. I have done many workshops here and they are always so helpful and informative resulting in a piece of work to take home that you can be proud of, even for the not so confident. This course run by Alex Waylett is a good combination of machine embroidery, applique and Lumiere paints. I would 100% recommend this to anyone with machine stitch embroidery experience. Runs again in August, check the website and see you there!!"

Sian Roberts reviewed: Cold-process soap making

"Me and a friend went to a soap and lip balm making course with Cath. Her knowledge and enthusiasm for her trade is unbelievable and she shares this so freely with you. We absolutely loved the course and I can't wait to try my soaps when they are fully cured. Got to bring home loads of our products we made - great value for money. I'll be keeping my eye out for other courses we could do with Cath. Highly recommended."

Liz Cullen reviewed: Traditional Welsh Quilting with Lesley Jenkins in West Wales

"Had a fabulous 3 days on this course. Our tutor was really knowledgeable and more importantly for me in any case very patient. There are the things that may have improved the course the first was having our own cutting boards and the second was having a bit more time to practice the quilting techniques themselves although I think we were probably slower than other courses. So as I said a fabulous two days, a lovely tutor and lovely venue. Will definitly come again."

Richard and Mark are very welcoming, always on hand to help and answer any questions. Definitely looking to go back for course 2."

Jackie Hamilton reviewed: Firebird Forge Blacksmithing School

"I made a wonderful organically curly candlestick which was created from a doodle design I brought, and although, yes, I had a huge amount of help and guidance I am so proud of this result! A wonderful day and it felt like alchemy converting cold metal into art with flame and sparks and noise. My husband made an axe which is another story! Mort is a star."

"Was bought a wood turning lathe and equipment for my birthday in December and needed to find out how to use them! Had a great day. Wendy Davis reviewed: The Annie Sloan complete chair makeover Workshop at La Di Da Interiors

"A brilliant experience. Steph is friendly, good fun and very supportive. Everything is well prepared and I really did learn how to upcycle a vintage chair. Steph patiently guided us through every stage from using Annie Sloan paint (as good as it says on the tin!), through stripping back the padded seat to it's basic wooden frame to a complete re-upholster. Great setting, good company, good food and removing staples from the old seat even provided an unexpectedly good physical workout. Loved everything. Oh yes... and my chair looks just fantastic!"

Emma Saunders reviewed: Learn To Crochet On The Norfolk/Cambs Border

"I have recently spent a fantastic morning with Sue learning how to crochet. The workshop was fabulous and I was amazed at how much I learnt and how much I could do after just three hours! It was also great to meet the alpacas and lamas. I'm certainly 'hooked' and will be booking another course, to learn some more advanced stitches. A thoroughly enjoyable morning and very informative - thank you Sue for your patience, guidance, support and encouragement!! Emma."

Daniel Marsh reviewed: Chair Making Courses with Sussex Green Woodworking

"What a fantastic experience... I was given this course as a gift and contacted Danny to arrange my visit to his lovely woodland in Sussex. Danny is an excellent and patient teacher, the pole lathes were great fun and the fire keep the tea and coffee flowing accompanied with homemade cake. I had some previous greenwood working experience, having carved spoons and bowls, but the stool making course introduced me to new tools and techniques in a lovely environment and by the end of the course we all had a completed seat to take home and treasure. I highly recommend any of the courses that Danny runs, you won't be disappointed!"

Thank you Jennie , really loved my day with you ."

Josephine Drazek reviewed: One day stained glass classes by Le Breton Traditional

"As a young artist many decades ago, I always wanted to create a stain glass piece. We have been so blessed to have our wonderful stained-glass artist Matt Le Breton in Bradninch. My husband and I booked on one of his courses a couple of years ago. We created a sun inspired design to be installed above the portal of our house. I must admit. as painters, we were so unfamiliar with the technique, though Matt was very patient and supported us with the completion. So many friends and neighbours have commented on our beautiful stained-glass piece, and we are very proud of it! Matt is an excellent tutor and communicator. He has a powerful vision, and is an inspiring, energising tutor and artist. Matt also has a warm and friendly personality, and is very instructive and encouraging. We look forward to attending another one of his courses in the near future, and they are to be highly recommended!"

Laura reviewed: 2 day traditional upholstery workshop

"Really enjoyed my time on this course. Never had any upholstery experience before but it didn't matter, truely a course for beginners upwards. Karen is really knowledgeable and enthusiastic. Her and her "support team" (husband and kids) were uber accommodating and welcoming. Really pleased with what I have done. Didn't get the chair finished in the 2 days, but Karen has continued to give me support via the evening classes and email. An added bonus to an already amazing weekend was the fabulous home made food!!! Would definitely recommend!"

Lara Strickland reviewed: Glass fusing with artist Patricia Lee - as seen on BBC1 Home Is Where The Art Is

"I enjoyed my first glass fusion course (Nov 16) that much that I signed up for another one in January 17 with a friend. On arrival you are welcomed in with a hot drink of your choice. In the morning you make a clear piece of art work / ornament using 'float' glass. In the afternoon you move on to 'spectrum' glass where colours used. Patricia offers just the right amount of guidance / tuition whilst at the same time you can enjoy doing a bit of what you fancy. The two homemade soups (most guests try both!) and bread is delicious. Hard to find room for the equally delicious cakes on offer. I'm delighted with my glass pieces and look forward to another session towards the end of this year. I can highly recommend."
