Sue Harrison reviewed: Introduction to Frame Loom Weaving

"I looked at the piece of frame loom weaving I made yesterday and felt proud. Thanks to Alice's skill, patience and gentle approach, I didn't feel inept for more than a few minutes! I'm going to mount it on a larger piece of fabric and add to it; not sure what yet but I've played around with string, buttons and shells so who knows? Thank you Alice for inspiring me to try a different craft."

Rebecca reviewed: Kate Morrell willow sculpture courses

"A crafty Christmas present, I'd never done any weaving of any discription prior to the day. I was stunned at what we achieved in a day as a complete novice. Kate gave great support during the day and creates a really relaxed experience in her home. I went with two friends and there was another two lovely ladies on the course. The day went really fast but Kate was great at keeping us on track. Throughly enjoyed the day"

Steph reviewed: 1 Day Fused Glass for beginners workshop at The Silver Zebra studio Cheshire - Est 2004

"AMAZING!!!!! We enlisted on Deborah's 3 Day Fused glass Course as complete beginners not knowing anything about glass at all. We made 7 what I would call substantial projects as well as 11 smaller but fun projects and came away with a broad view on what Fused Glass is. We were greeted well and absolutely spoiled with amazing lunches! Deborah's wonderful Farm is also a bit of a bonus to see with their cows & chickens. The course was an absolute treat and we are already planning to return for the Next Step Course."

Christine reviewed: Beginners Weaving with the Rigid Heddle Loom - at All in a Spin

"Learning was very enjoyable, helped very much by the relaxed and calm atmosphere. A lot was covered in the day, but the various aspects were taught in a rigorous way with nothing glossed over or hurried. Dunja has a wonderful way of adapting to each student's learning needs, and she guides and encourages in such a way that learners are able to grasp fully each element during the day. The opportunity to weave a piece of fabric from start to finish was very exciting and rewarding. Many thanks Dunja for your knowledge, enthusiasm and patience. This course can only be very highly recommended."

James Airey reviewed: Wood turning tuition, New Forest, Hampshire (1 day) (2 people)

"A very enjoyable and informative 2 days spent in the company of Graham who certainly exceeded all my expectations in terms of providing an excellent learning forum for those thinking of woodturning. Graham proved to be a very capable, helpful, patient and knowledgable tutor who made the course a truly memorable experience.I would certainly recommend Graham to anyone starting out or wishing to develop their woodturning skills mainly due to his welcoming, informal, sociable manner that created a relaxed learning environment. Graham also went the extra mile by providing me with some invaluable advice about an old wood lathe that I had recently inherited from my father. He explained the set up procedure and where to source spare parts required to get the machine working. My thanks also go to his wife Chris who provided a lovely lunch on each of the two days and keeping me supplied with regular cups of coffee and biscuits."

colin wares reviewed: Blacksmithing course - spend a day in the forge

"Having spent my entire working life in the metal working industry I was not sure whether this would give me that much pleasure. How incredibly wrong was I. It was beyond good, it was fantastic. I enjoyed every minute in the company of probably the best Blacksmith in the UK. Very informative whilst allowing most of the time at the forge for a hands on metal crafting experience. highly serious on safety but making it a great fun day for me and the other three on the course. We all made something to take home which will be a lasting reminder of a all round great day."

Jane Drake reviewed: Green Man Ceramic wall sculpture

"I attended my first of Linda's courses yesterday with a friend who had recommended them after enjoying two on previous occasions. The organisation of the day was great - a perfect balance of tuition and working with the clay. Linda's demonstrations helped us all to create a green man mask to be proud of but they were all very individual! Can't wait to go back!"

Elizabeth Bond reviewed: Whittling course

"This is a great introduction to knife work. Martin covers all the safety aspects of the key cuts and you have a chance to practice them. We then moved on to little projects to consolidate our knowledge. Throughout the day Martin carefully monitors your work and will stop you if you are unsafe, getting you back on track. He also makes a mean boiled fruit cake. I would thoroughly recommend this course to anyone interested in woodwork."

Shirley Gooch reviewed: Intermediary Glass fusing workshop with Laura Hart of Hart Glass

"What a lovely day! Laura's taster day ( bought by my husband as a present ) was so enjoyable. Not ever having thought about doing anything like this I was quite nervous. There really was no need to be, as Laura soon put me at ease and is such a good teacher with so much patience that you can soon start using things you do not know anything about. As I said what a lovely day with the bonus of an absolutely fab lunch provided by, guess who, Laura of course."

Joyce Vaughan reviewed: Introduction to candle-making as a business

"Made to feel very welcome and at home. The course was brilliant adding perfumes to such lovely candles makes them ideal presents or keepsakes. Jo knows what she is talking about and her instruction was first class. The whole environment was beautiful, the kitchen and the views adding to the experience. I have had several experience days from chocolate tasting to segway and this was by far the best. Well done Jo I would thoroughly recommend this to anyone."

Julie reviewed: Spoon carving course (1 day)

"What a great day! It was everything I wanted it to be - informative, friendly, welcoming, with a great (small) group of like minded people. We started by choosing a piece of branch (cherry for me) and learned how to split it and use an axe properly to shape it into a blank. Then onto using straight and curved knives to create the spoons we wanted. All were different and wonderful. The setting was perfect, with a woodburning stove crackling away while the wind and rain (February) did its worst outside. The sense of quiet absorption as we all settled down and concentrated on our carving as the afternoon went on was just magical. David was good company and very generous with his calm encouraging tuition. Lots of really lovely food - I have particularly fond memories of the cake!"

"A great class. A lot of fun and really well taught by Sarah.
