Jane Willinson reviewed: 'Art of Stained Glass' - Oldbury, Birmingham

"Super day that the miserable weather could not dampen. Jamal was a great teacher and tea maker & I am more than pleased with my first foray into stained glass leading. I would recommend to anyone; you don't have to be arty. I'm proof of that. Thank you."

Piped and zipped cushions reviewed: Piped cushion with lapped zip

"I really enjoyed learning how to create and sew a piped and zipped cushion. It was a pleasure being taught by Janet who was patient and knowledgeable throughout our lesson....Janet made sure I completed the cushion even though we ran over the allocated time. I feel enthusiastic to try more and to get use out of my new sewing machine. I highly recommend this course for anyone wanting to get back into sewing."

Carri reviewed: Nuno felt a silk scarf in fine merino wools and silks with Judi Binks

"A thoroughly enjoyable felting lesson with a really excellent tutor. Suitable for learners or people with experience. Each step was explained well and we all left the session with fantastic pictures and pots that left us wanting to do more. We were spoilt for choice with the amount and different types of materials to use, and encouraged to experiment. I'd thoroughly recommend these sessions to anyone who enjoys 'arty/crafty' lessons."

Martin Mahoney reviewed: Blacksmithing for beginners - one day taster

"What an absolutely fantastic day. Aaron is the consummate professional craftsman and educator and is an absolute delight to both watch and be guided by. If you are a maker of any kind or simply enjoy learning new skills, this course is a must for the to-do list. I will be taking what I've learned over the course of the day into my professional life as a prop maker and will certainly hope to return to Steele Avenue one day if only just to watch a master at work. Many, many thanks and kindest regards to all involved Martin M"

"Overall a wonderful experience. This is a great introduction to the courses that Kas facilitates. She is respectful and helpful in equal measures. Michelle Clarke reviewed: Free Taster Intuitive Art for Healing & Well Being art class/free group

"This 4 week taster course is a fantastic opportunity to start on your journey of self discovery. Kas offers a warm, inviting, safe and friendly space in which to explore. No need to be an artist as this is less about how 'good' the finished artwork is, and more about the process to get there. Kas's experience and passion for what she does shines through in the way she guides you through the whole process. I woukd heartily recommend this experience."

Margaret Moores reviewed: Stool making course at Sallerton Wood

"I look at my stool and think, 'Did I really make this?' My previous experience, using downsized tools, was limited to vegetable peeling and cutting. My stool doesn't wobble; my stool isn't skewed; my stool looks grand. I did it! What a great tutor - so gentle with his words; so encouraging; so patient. Many thanks, Andy and Jane, for sharing the beautiful Sallerton Wood and for your warm hospitality. Now ... what shall I make next?"

zoe avastu reviewed: Stonecarving Weekend, Gloucestershire Cotswolds

"A perfectly absorbing two days in a beautiful space. The course leader, Sebastian, allowed us time to 'play' before we began our projects which helped to overcome any anxiety we had and give us time to become familiar with the stone & tools. All abilities were catered for and Sebastian guided each person skillfully. He was relaxed, positive and sensitive to the needs of individuals in the group. The group was small (seven) and so we enjoyed finding out about each other over tea/lunch as well as enjoying the stillness that focused work engenders. I unreservedly recommend the course to young and old, to those with an artistic background and to those who feel they have little creativity. Everyone in our group created an amazing sculpture to take home-all very different from each other. Lots of relaxed, proud faces at the end of the day."

Carol Southerd reviewed: Weekend mosaic retreat - direct method

"Really enjoyed the course. Learned such a lot from Debra while working on my own project. There were 4 of us beginners attending. Each working on very different pieces. This maximised the learning opportunities as we benefitted from each others' work and Debra's advice on specific techniques. Time flew. Lovely food. Great company and beautiful surroundings. What more could you want?"
