David Webber reviewed: Chocolate and Prosecco - chocolate indulgence day!

"Had a great day learning the art of tempering and moulding chocolate. I came home with an assortment of professional looking bars, chocolate lollies and mice, truffles and even a chocolate bowl and lid. All materials and tools were provided as well as refreshments, a delicious lunch and even a glass of bubbly. The studio facilities are excellent and Yolanda is very knowledgable about the subject. I would thoroughly recommend this course."

Lucy Ghaly reviewed: Introduction to Frame Loom Weaving

"Absolutely loved the hand weaving course with Alice! I learnt so much and it was what I had hoped for, for my first try at hand weaving. I came home very happy and energised with a new wall-hanging for my home. I also bought one of Alice’s hand-made looms so I can continue to create at home. Alice is patient, meticulous, a good teacher, and kind. I had a really fun time weaving with a small group of lovely ladies in the cosy Hotwalls Studio!"

Stephanie H reviewed: Creative Spring /Christmas Gift Wrapping Workshop with Lunch

"What a lovely little workshop with Jo, learning new wrapping tips and tricks. Enjoyed the day with my mother-in-law on December 1st in a small group - total of 7. The afternoon tea provided was very yummy! We learned our new skills by wrapping empty brown boxes, so I would suggest bringing a few small things you can add to them, just so you have some presents to add under the tree when you get home. Just for those curious on what we learnt: - Wrapped a wine bottle, so suggest bringing your own - Wrapped a circular tin - this was just on a practice one, so you could always bring something like a Celebrations Tub if you wanted to give as a gift - Made a bow from florist ribbon - Added pleats to our gift wrapping - Used rosemary and pinecone for decoration - Learned how to properly wrap without wasting so much paper (and no Scotch tape used!) - Learned how to make a small gift bag (with tips on how to make one at any size) Thanks Jo, you were a great teacher!"

More Pretty Things responded:

"Thank you Stephanie, that's so kind of you! We loved having you on the workshop with us and glad you enjoyed it. Other than bringing a bottle (which is totally optional as we supply a substitute), we don't ask students to bring anything else, partly because some students will remember, some won't so we'd rather supply everything then we know everyone learns the same thing on the day and doesn't feel left out. But also we do this to ensure we can keep to the structure and timings of the workshop. We wouldn't be able to teach everyone the necessary skills on the day if we were getting to grips with various items brought in on top of what we already teach but thank you for taking time to feedback and we hope to see you on another of our workshops soon. Best regards, Jo Thompson"

Anne Eldred reviewed: 3D Textile techniques in Cumbria

"Dianne is an amazing artist and the course takes place in her workshop full of inspiration. Her work is incredibly imaginative, using recycled fabrics to produce beautiful pieces and she is very happy to share her ideas and techniques. I have been on 3 of her day courses now (the others were felting and rags to bags and rugs) and will be going back for more. The courses are small so that everyone gets individual attention and help as needed. Dianne is an extremely patient and unflappable teacher. It is a privilege to learn from someone so talented and I have come home buzzing with ideas of how to use some of my stash of fabric. PS The lunch was delicious too."

Mike Wise reviewed: Bladesmithing Experience Day

"An excellent course run by seriously knowledgable guys. We arrive to meet a friendly team and a tooled up workshop. Everything we needed for the day was supplied which makes a big difference. Tuition was well delivered and easy to understand even for the beginners. More detail was available when needed and we always knew what we were doing and why. It was very refreshing to attend a course where each step was explained expertly and the goal of each step was clear. I cannot reccomend these guys highly enough. If you are looking for a course like this, look no further."

Duncan Fielder reviewed: Silver Clay Jewellery Course

"I can't praise our teacher Yolanda enough, I had no previous experience but this didn't matter at all she went through the process thoroughly sharing her knowledge. The studio is an Aladins cave of tools and treasures all available for use during the day. We enjoyed lovely hospitality, a splendid lunch and I would thoroughly recommend this course. It has certainly inspired me to go on and explore further."

Daniel reviewed: Bladesmithing Experience Day

"Knowledgeable, creative, hands on or off, personal and a realistic experience... This day was given to me as a birthday gift, the group was small and personal, the experience was amazing!. I learnt a lot and enjoyed every minute of the day. We weren’t rushed, we could take each stage at our own pace with Graham, Dave and Declan always on hand but allowing us to do as much of it on our own. All three were friendly, helpful and approachable. It was day were you created your piece all the way, (no standing around watching others do it for you) This day was really amazing, I will be back."

Glenn Gooding reviewed: Blacksmithing, bladesmithing and metal craft

"My wife bought us both vouchers to celebrate our wedding anniversary and 6 months later we found time to attend Nigel's One Day Blacksmithing Course. It was a very cold December Saturday when we rocked up. Nigel is a true character, with a story for every occasion! But, what Nigel is, is a true artisan craftsman, with a wealth of experience in his trade and craft that shines through in his teaching. His explanations and demonstrations on the various items we got to make on the day are precise, yet relaxed and well delivered. Soon we were left to wield hammers and tongs to make our first item - a drop forged leaf key ring. What followed, complimented by an unexhaustible river of tea/coffee, came thick and fast. Pokers, toasting forks, acorn key rings were manufactured in quick succession. Everything made with Nigel's advice, help and good humour. As the day progressed, I asked if I could make a wood working marking knife. No problem and we set about forging it. At the end, the knife was exactly what I wanted and all hand made. We couldn't recommend this course highly enough - good chance we will be back, as there is a garden fire pit to be designed and made! Thanks to Maxine and Nigel for a great day."

Jeremy Stadward reviewed: Wood turning courses in the Midlands

"I have just spent a wonderful day with Mark on a 1 to 1 course which has left me exhausted but full of confidence and buzzing. He has an extremely good style of teaching, helping when it is needed and letting you get on with it when he thinks you need to stretch yourself a little. He will suddenly turn up behind you when you are making strange noises with the tools or when he sees, often from the other end of the room, the wrong sort of wood shavings appearing and say just the right thing to calm you down. I must say for a total beginner with zero confidence he has shown me that I can do things and that with a little bit of encouragement I can actually produce things that look good. I walked away that evening full of tea, he is a great maker of brews, encouragement and not a little confidence. Thank you Mark for an amazing day, I will be back! Great value and seriously relaxing in a funny way!"

Lesa Vaughan reviewed: Introducing Macrame Knots and Intricate Designs

"Mary is fantastic. Her knowledge of macrame is 2nd to none. I had never tried macrame before and had no idea what to expect, I bought the course as a present for my mum and we both attended. We have started getting crafty so this sounded perfect. It was a lovely relaxed afternoon, and Mary was so patient with us. I learnt a lot and found it easy, because of Mary’s instruction. We both had a lovely sampler to take home and have since created wall hangings and plant holders. It was a lovely afternoon, we both learnt a new skill and Mary provided the most yummy biscuits. I would advise anybody to give it a go."

Fiona French and Linton O'Riordan reviewed: Glass Fusing & Slumping Weekend - 2 Days

"We really enjoyed ourselves over the weekend with Jude - she shared her skills and expertise wisely and is a very motivating teacher. Vibrant atmosphere and well stocked studio - we learned many techniques. It would be worth going just for the tuition, but we also took home several lovely pieces we had made ourselves. This craft course is very accessible for people who like to focus on creative tasks for several hours - we came as a family pair and recommend it highly!"

lesley freeman reviewed: 1-to-1 tailored course with one of the UK's leading glass artists Jennifer Barker, at the Cheshire School of Glass

"My 18 year old daughter has just been on a one to one course with Jenny at the cheshire school of glass. She had a wonderful time designing and making. Jenny has taught at Art colleges for many years so understands the creative education system and is great with teenagers. Sophie is doing her A-levels at the moment , she benefited so much from Jenny teaching her we have booked another day. The course was catered specifically with Sophie's A-level project in mind so the work can be affiliated in to her course work. A brilliant experience. Sophie came away buzzing with enthusiasm."

Kate Davies reviewed: Mosaic workshop at Jackie Nash Art

"What a wonderful day! Jackie is an enthusiastic and inspiring teacher. I have little craft ability yet came out of Jackies workshop with an excellent piece of artwork. Jackie is so creative she makes it seem easy. Her workshop has a huge variety of materials to choose from which makes anything in your mind become a reality. On top of all that I found Jackie to be so friendly and welcoming. She offered a constant stream of cups of tea all day and even home made cake, she just makes you want to go back again and again!!"

Jackie Nash Art responded:

"Hi Kate Thank you so much for your lovely review. Really glad you had a good day. I love teaching my workshops so to receive your feedback reminds me why I love them so much. Jackie ?"
