Jess Horgan reviewed: Two-day Silkscreen Printing Course: Design and Print Your Own Fabric £170.00

"I purchased this course for two of my friends as a gift for a significant birthday and a graduation present. It was brilliant. Super fun to do with your friends with no prior experience. Caroline was a wonderful friendly teacher. Really patient and clear in helping us grasp what we had to do to construct our design. It was soo satisfying seeing our own designs develop into a beautiful pattern and fabric which can be made into many things. Would highly recommend and the lunch provided was homemade and delicious !!!!!!"

Mary H reviewed: An introduction to wood turning with Gregory Moreton (2 Days)

"A very enjoyable 2 day course and I felt I learned a lot. Tuition was great and Greg was very knowledgeable, patient and friendly. Pace was good and the ratio of 2 students to 1 was helpful with someone to share the learning with. I need to practice the techniques now. Thanks for a very useful and helpful course with some lovely pieces made to take home and show the family."

Tristan Luscombe reviewed: Knife Making and Bladesmith Classes: Hand-Forged Viking Knife

"I had my introduction to blacksmithing course yesterday and at the end of the day I was tired, dirty and grinning like an idiot. This was easily the best day I've had in a very long time indeed and I got a poker and kitchen knife out of it too! Being only a small group of students meant that we had the undivided attention of tutors John, David and Spencer and they're a cracking bunch of blokes; friendly, knowledgeable, funny and they really made the day special for everyone. I would unequivocally recommend this course to anyone interested in blacksmithing or bladesmithing and wants an introduction to the practical aspects. I'm saving up for my next visit!"

Anvil Forge responded:

"Hi Tristan I think that your comments say it all! we all feel pretty lucky meeting you guys and helping you all have a great time as well as making some pretty great blades along the way . Dont forget to watch this space as we have few new courses ( axes , bushcraft with another smith etc) coming up during the summer. best wishes John"

Jane Rushby reviewed: 'Bag in a Day' Practical Leather Course - Mini Bucket bag

"I had such a lovely time on this course. The choice of materials to make the bag from was fabulous, it was hard to choose, but I was very happy with my green/red combo. Georgie is a creative, knowledgeable and very kind and friendly teacher. It was quite hard work, learning to use the tools and machines, and Georgie was on hand to help us along and we had plenty of 1:1 attention from her. My bag is fabulous, I’ve been using it daily for work and have it on holiday with me now. I’ll be doing another course this year for sure! The course was held in a lovely workshop space, and we had delicious refreshments and lunch. Thank you Georgie ?"

Hands of Tym responded:

"Thank you! It was such a great day with you all :) Your green bag is great - I want one! Enjoy using it and please share a pics! Gxxx"

Francis Burns reviewed: Stone carving for beginners - Weymouth

"John is a fantastic artist and an exceptional teacher. He seems to really understand YOU, as an individual, and to give you exactly what you need to achieve your goals. Nothing is rushed -- everything is paced beautifully. Nothing is skipped -- you get all the knowledge and skill you need to get the results. And not only do you come away with a sense of accomplishment in the art you have created, more importantly, you also come away with an unshakeable CERTAINTY in the new set of skills you have acquired and the feeling that doors have opened into a whole new world of creativity. I highly recommend this workshop to all -- EVERYONE can benefit from this."

Andrew reviewed: Stained glass leading for beginners

"Had a wonderful time. Jamal has great experience, and the stories he tells of his past is enthralling. He passes his knowledge on very well, and the way he shows you the steps required to make your own piece of stained glass makes it easy to learn. I would highly recommend this course to anyone who would like to give stained glass making a try."

Belinda reviewed: Contemporary Furniture Refinishing & Upcycling with Woodcare - 2 Day Workshop

"Oliver has loads of knowledge and was happy to share anything we were after. The class size was small (3 ppl) so we all got time with him individually. As each student did different items we got to listen and learn about other furniture too. He has a high finishing standard and is keen to pass on this work ethic so you end up with a piece of work which is yours, and looks great. The workshop is warm (even thought it is super cold outside) with all tools you need in reach, light and airy - I really liked this 2 day course, I traveled up from London to attend and it was well worth it."

Jackie Small reviewed: Stained glass leading for beginners

"It was a real privilege to spend a day with someone as skilled and talented as Jamal. As someone who loves bring creative but who lacks any natural artistic talent this course was perfect fit me. He patiently took us through each step of the stained glass leading process. His instruction was clear and his level of support just right. I would never have believed I would be carrying hone my own little price of lovingly crafted leaded stained glass at the end of just one day! Spending the day in his cosy little studio, with classical music playing softly in the background, thinking about nothing other than crafting my piece was almost like therapy. I felt totally relaxed when I got into my car to drive home. I am considering taking up Stained Glass as my new hobby as I enter semi-retirement. I know enough to get started tomorrow but need to decide whether my commitment is strong enough to justify the initial investment in all the tools and equipment."

Suzanne Harrow reviewed: 1-to-1 tailored course with one of the UK's leading glass artists Jennifer Barker, at the Cheshire School of Glass

"I am a Secondary school teacher in school in Staffordshire. I came with a specific plan to learn how to use kilns , prgramme them, teach pupils glass techniques safely and find out costs of materials and where to purchase them. This course exceeded my expectations. Money well spent with an exceedingly knowledgable teacher. a wonderful day."
