Joe Pitt reviewed: Woodturning in Devon with Colin Simpson

"I’ve just had my third day with Colin; the first was as described above. The second was when he kindly came over to my newly fitted out albeit cramped workshop and went through all the equipment which I had acquired en masses from a retired woodturner. I decided to have a 3rd day with him - this was to be a needs-led day with it being very much what I wanted to discuss and practice on having started the hobby and having had my more than fair share of problems. The day didn’t disappoint. We started by going through preparing blanks (I am lucky to have a good supply of forested hardwood), techniques in minimising problems in seasoning and green turning. This was followed by some more specific problems I was having such as the problems I was encountering with the shape of the sharpened bowl gouge I was having, deep hollowing and the confusion that I suspect all beginners have with what finishing products to use and when. All in all another excellent day."

Leigh Austin reviewed: Blacksmithing Introduction courses in Yorkshire and the North East

"My first time black smithing, my wife got me this course for my 60th birthday treat the day before the course as I kept saying how much I enjoyed watching Kev Paxton at his forge in Scotland on TV. Much needed cup of tea on arrival and after quick H&S talk straight down to work. Very helpful and informative demonstrations from Adrian and surprised myself with how well I did ! Completely out of my comfort zone after 38 years working in NHS. Excellent food at lunch time to build us up for more forging. Ended day with tea and cake some excellent conversation and 2 pieces of work I did myself. Can't wait to do another course. Thanks to Debbie, Adrian and Andy and to all the other people who attended on the 30th March I really enjoyed all your company and hope to meet up with you again on future sessions."

Jeff reviewed: Introduction to Leather Craft

"If anybody is interested in learning leatherwork they would have to go a long way to find a better man than Bill to teach them. Bill has a wealth of experience all of which he is happy to share with good humour and patience. I was really surprised how easy Bill made it for a man who had never sewn a button on to create a passable saddle stitch! Thanks Bill."

"I attended Jo's paint workshop on Friday with my mum. It was excellent day out, good value for money and very informative. We learnt how to create a distressed look, stencil, how to create the crackling look. Jo was extremely friendly, patient, helpful and full of wonderful ideas as we had the opportunity during the course to create an effect on an item of our choice. I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND Jo's workshops and I will definitely be attending one very soon. xx"

Catherine Archer reviewed: Learn to make either silver earrings or a pendant

"Do not hesitate to book this course. Rose will guide you through the process of jewellery making, giving you so many options so that you can produce unique items you can be proud of. I had something very specific in mind and she took the time and trouble to ensure I was able to produce my earrings- even though the design was quite different and required clips (which she’d never used before!). A really fulfilling day."

Form & Adorn responded:

"Catherine Thank you so much for a great review. Much appreciated. Rose :)"
