Jane Holden reviewed: Bee Experience

"I arrived unaware of what was going to happen to me. This was a suprise birthday present from my best friend. Upon arrival, I was made very comfortable by all the staff, especially Simon and Cath, who are very knowledgeable and friendly. I put my suit and gloves on, had a photo taken and then we were off to meet the bees, after a short introduction to the smoker and various tools the beekeeper uses. Cath took us into the onsite, purpose built apiary. We were a small group of 6 people including 2 small children and a grannie with a walking stick. I saw the Queen and baby bees emerging. I got to hold a drone and had my photo taken ( later it was emailed to me) holding a full frame of bees. Everything was very professional and relaxed. I didn't feel nervous at all and I must say that it is the best experience I have ever had. I can see why it has won so many awards. The ethical way in which they keep the bees is heartwarming and I would highly recommend this experience. I have since bought some for my parents & partner."

Louise Rudderforth reviewed: Next steps in spinning

"I have just attended the next steps in spinning course with Beechwood Crafts. This is my second class with them. Cath the tutor was very welcoming and the relaxing setting put me at ease. She is enthusiastic and encouraging and has taught me to spin and now is helping to improve my technique and learn more about this craft. The days are always well thought out, with Cath contacting you beforehand to ascertain if there is anything you would like to focus upon. Her extensive knowledge in all things spinning comes across. I would highly recommend these courses...I have already booked another."

"Thank you Louise, It has been a pleasure to teach you and to see how well you are developing your skills. I look forward to seeing you again soon"

Corrie Cuthbertson reviewed: Two Day Hand Spinning Workshop in Norfolk

"I can't recommend Theresa and her courses highly enough. I arrived with a whole host of bad habits and preconceptions, having fought my wheel for a number of years. But Theresa is so calming and patient, she's so positive and encouraging that I came away with a new love for my wheel, and desperate to get started on new projects. We were a perfectly-sized group so we got lots of feedback, support and encouragement, Theresa spots as soon as you go wrong, steps in and gets you sorted in a flash. We were a mixture of past spinners and newbies and she tailored the weekend to accommodate all of us and our needs. The location is perfect, gorgeous refreshments/lunches and you get to meet her lovely sheep. I can't believe how much I learned in one weekend but didn't feel overwhelmed at any point Perfect :)"

The Spinning Barn responded:

"Thank you so much Corrie. I am feeling rather humbled by your fabulous review. As you know I was just delighted to have been part of your spinning journey. You produced some fabulous yarn on your very lovely wheel and I just know that you will be continuing and that makes me very happy. Thank you x"

"Excellent course. I’m on my third term and each term is slightly different. You are taught the basics but you are allowed to develop your own style. I’m ok at some things and dreadful at others but never made to feel bad. Good variety throughout the course. Lovely people. Altogether a fabulous way to spend an afternoon or morning. Time flies."

"This was given to me as a birthday gift and I persuaded a friend to accompany me. We had a delightful evening. Ellie was a talented weaver and also a good communicator as we learned from scratch and produced a piece of work to take home.
