Description
Come to the Makershed in St Pauls Learning Centre in Bristol for this woodwork beginners course. Make a softwood tool box with a handle and inset base using traditional woodworking hand tools and corner rebate joints. At the end of this course you will have a tool box to take home and a strong foundation of woodwork skills that will enable you to carry out basic woodworking projects at home, or to progress on to our Makershed Woodwork for Beginners Level 2 classes. Choose from either: ~ 8 consecutive Tuesday evenings (6.15 - 8.45pm). ~ 4 Thursday or Friday daytimes (10.30am - 3.45pm). ~ 2 weekends (Saturday and Sunday 10.30am - 3.45pm). Please note that the dates of the weekends courses advertised are: - 19th, 20th, 26th & 27th July 2025. - 27th & 28th September and 4th & 5th October. - 22nd, 23rd, 29th & 30th November 2025. LEARN HOW TO: ~ Saw straight and square. ~ Accurately mark out and cut a joint. ~ Use a range of hand tools such as chisels and planes effectively. ~ Fit and finish a woodwork project. SKILL LEVEL: Suitable for those with no previous woodwork experience or, more experienced woodworkers wanting to improve their skills and accuracy. MINIMUM AGE: 16 years.
