Description
On this two day course you will weave a beautiful and practical oval shaped basket, using a variety of naturally coloured willows. This course will start with weaving a traditional willow oval basket base, but then students can choose to turn their base into a shopper, laundry basket or log basket. Shopping, picking beans or hanging out washing will be a pleasure for ever more! This workshop is suitable for practical beginners but if you’ve not woven with willow before you will need to keep your basket to a more modest size in order to complete it in time. If you’ve made a basket before and would like to extend your skills this is a great opportunity. Tutor: Jane Welsh Jane is an experienced basket maker and attentive teacher. Her knowledge and love of willow is inspiring. She will also have a range of her own baskets for sale at extremely reasonable prices. All proceeds from our events and holidays are ploughed directly back into managing our 40 acre nature reserve. Thank you for your support and please do come to visit soon.
What's included in the price?
All tools and materials provided. If you have your own sharp secateurs and a knife, please bring them along. There is an additional £25 per person for materials, to be paid in cash on the day.
