This traditional wet felting workshop is ideal for complete beginners and those with a bit of experience alike. You'll learn time-honoured techniques to transform beautiful wool fibres into a piece of felt artwork you’ll be proud to take home – whether that's a landscape, abstract design, or something more personal. We’ll cover everything from laying out the wool, blending colours, adding texture, to the actual felting and fulling process. FAQs

Wet felting is a traditional technique that uses warm, soapy water and friction to bond wool fibres together into a solid fabric. The process involves layering wool, wetting it, and then rubbing or rolling it to encourage the fibres to interlock. This method can create both flat pieces for textiles and seamless 3D forms like bowls or bags (we mainly just provide workshops for flat pieces). Wet felting is versatile, allowing for artistic effects such as blending colours or incorporating fabrics like silk (nuno felting) for added texture.
