Description

Level: Beginner and up In this fun seasonal workshop we will explore a variety of ways to work with watercolours or gouache, covering a wide range of techniques. We will play with some simple printing as a starting point, then embellish and develop our images using loose and lively paint techniques and line-work to create colourful illustrative images – perfect for Christmas cards or simply seasonal pictures. We will explore colour mixing for a winter palette, printed shapes, masks, line-work, a smattering of spattering and a bit of bling! There will be lots of demos & step-by-step instruction in this fun and informal workshop. What to bring: Several sheets of medium to heavy-weight watercolour paper (approx. 220gsm) Drawing pencil; low-tack masking tape, dip pen if you have one, (the tutor will also bring some) Watercolours or Gouache) – whatever you have – if buying specially just buy primary colours (plus a tube of white gouache if working in watercolour) If you have metallic / glittery paints or pens (not essential) please bring them.
