Level: Beginner and up Make a stunning lamp using lutradur and a variety of decorative effects, then learn how to sew in a circuit to switch on a colour changing LED (light). The design is completely up to you, you could even make a Christmas themed lamp to bring out each year as a decoration. Kate will bring lutradur sheets, artists paint sticks,(Markal sticks) acrylics, some brushes, a heat gun and soldering iron, and the components needed to make a sewn electronic circuit with a switch, to light our lamps. Also templates and printed fabric birds. What to bring: Handsewing kit, needles, pins, scissors Gluestick, Craft knife, Ruler, pencil, Cutting mat, Needle nose pliers Card strip 28cm x approx. 3cm (cereal packet card is ideal) Sewing machine (not essential – but great if you like adding free motion details or using your decorative stitches) The branches in the right hand lamp were freemotion machine stitched, and the houses were outlined with stitch. A packed lunch Optional extras – bring if you have them Watercolours/acrylics/inktense sticks/Neocolour aquarelle and a few brushes, waterpot and saucer to mix colours in (Don’t buy in specially – I will have stuff to use too!) A selection of interesting organzas/sheers/ribbons/threads/beads etc which could be used as decoration – to be hand or machine sewn on. Heat gun and/or soldering iron Irons and baking parchment

Terms - Fee is payable on booking. If, having booked, you can no longer attend, we are unable to offer a refund. However, you may nominate someone else to attend the workshop or class in your place by notifying us using the contact page on the Micklems Farm website. We reserve the right to cancel a workshop up to 48 hours prior to the workshop date. We will only cancel due to insufficient places sold and you will be refunded the full amount paid.
