This taster session is perfectly suited for complete beginners – no jewellery making experience needed. The relaxed, supportive environment allows you to explore learning at a comfortable pace, with expert demonstration and assistance at every step. During this hands on session, you’ll master essential silversmithing skills including: Precise measuring and sizing for the perfect fit Professional filing and forming techniques Safe and effective soldering methods Creating beautiful surface textures Expert finishing and polishing You’ll leave the taster session with your own handcrafted silver ring. You’ll also have foundational knowledge to continue exploring jewellery making. This rewarding experience opens up a whole new world of creative possibilities, giving you valuable insights into the art of working with precious metals. Materials: Silver is included in the course price. If you would like to use Gold Fill instead of silver there will be an additional charge of £7 on the day.

I was interested in making and designing from a very early age and developed my first jewellery range in 2000. I then discovered my love for teaching in 2004 and have been developing my courses ever since. I have a home teaching studio for 1:1 & 1:2 sessions and in 2017 I set up a teaching studio at Yardley Arts where I can teach up to 11 learners. Qualifications: BA in Designed Metalwork and Jewellery from BCUC and MA Royal College of Art Goldsmithing, Silversmithing, Metalwork and Jewellery.
