Sketching Norfolk: A line and wash workshop - Cromer
Description
Sketching Norfolk: An introduction to line and wash. Held in the beautiful surroundings of the Cliftonville Hotel in Cromer, this workshop is aimed at the complete beginner or those who are very new to sketching or painting, and provides a straightforward introduction to sketching in line and wash. This fun and expressive medium combines ink drawing and watercolour painting. Using little equipment, it is a great medium to begin creating your own artworks. It is also ideal for outdoor sketching and journaling. Through practical demonstrations and paint-along exercises, I will provide you with the knowledge and skills to begin sketching in line and wash. We will explore the basic materials and specific drawing and painting techniques needed for line and wash, before sketching scenes inspired by the Norfolk landscape. I’m Kester Hew Crawford, a landscape painter living in rural Norfolk. I have over ten years art and design tuition experience gained tutoring university design students as well as amateur and semi-professional art students. My summer workshop series in various location around Mid and North Norfolk have been enjoyed by many beginner, intermediate and professional level artists and have focused on oil and watercolour painting and hand drawing. I am also an exhibiting landscape artist, currently represented by The Point Contemporary gallery in Cromer, Norfolk and The Thornhill Art Gallery in Portsmouth, USA.
