Do you find it difficult to think of Christmas gifts for people? Are you looking for a festive activity with a difference? Then why not come along to a Sea Glass Workshop and create a unique gift for someone. This Christmas workshop will allow you to create your own piece of sea glass art alongside making a few Christmas rustic baubles for yourself. There will be a choice of things to make all festive themed of course! This workshop will include a glass of mulled wine and a mince pie - other drinks and nibbles can be offered as an alternative. Using beautiful pieces of sea glass collected from around the UK, the workshop will allow you to choose your own pieces, design your own picture all under the guidance of Karen. You do not need to be creative, draw or even paint but you will surprise yourself at what you create. Feedback from workshops have highlighted how therapeutic and calming it is and the joy of being able to create something beautiful when the craft experience is limited. The workshops take place on a range of dates that include daytime, evenings and weekends. They are suitable for adults and children. Please enquire if you wish to have something specific like a birthday treat etc. Lasting for a couple of hours you will enjoy spending time in the moment and creating something beautiful for you to keep or gift to someone special. The workshops are held at Karen's studio in North West Leicestershire which will be festively decorated and have a cosy log fire going too. Workshops are suitable for small groups and also larger groups up to 30 people.
What's included in the price?
All resources to create a framed piece of sea glass art including: Extensive collection of sea glass, card, pens, cardboard, watercolours, embellishments to add to your piece, selection of glue and a deep shadow box frame to complete your beautiful piece. Rustic log slices to create some Christmas baubles and all embellishments to go with them.

I am a retired special needs teacher and have always loved crafting. My love of sea glass came after I found some on the beach in the Isle of Wight. I made some pictures and then decided to set up a sea glass workshop business. It is quite unique as there aren't any other people working with sea glass in this area and I love seeing what people create. You don't have to be creative at all to come to a workshop and you will be surprised at what you create. You might even get to meet David my husband aka the sea glass hunter!! He can tell you lots of tales about where he has found the glass! You will have a warm welcome with tea, coffee and cake too.

There needs to be a minimum of 2 people attending the course to make it financially viable. Therefore 48 hours notice will be given if the course can no longer take place. It may be possible to transfer your booking to an alternative date or if you have more people that would like to attend the course you can add them on

There is always flexibility on dates, so if you are looking for something specific, i.e. for a special occasion, then please get in touch via the message the tutor button. There are always new dates being added but if you wish to have a private workshop this can be arranged.

If it is outside of Leicestershire then an additional fee will be charged to include expenses
Yes of course! If you have glass that you have collected yourself then please bring it along to create something special. I always love to see what people have collected and just kept in a jar and then see how they make it into a unique piece of art.
The sea glass workshops are suitable for adults and children aged 8 and upwards. I do have extensive experience working with children from age 4 and as long as they are supervised by adults they are more than welcome. Karen also does sea glass art parties for children so please get in touch if this is something that you would like to know more about.

Yes, I can travel to a venue of your choosing whether this be your home or a larger event. You just need to provide table and chairs and refreshments of your choosing and I will provide the rest
If it is a workshop that is in your home or a venue of your choosing then the participants can be increased to £25 and the price can be negotiated.
Yes there is adequate parking for 5 cars on the driveway
