Mole in a plant pot - Adult beginners needle felting workshop

Description

An adult (18+) workshop aimed at beginners or first time felters with tutor Natalie Harris (Brooks). Natalie is a fine artist using needle felting and the creator of Roly Poly Ponies. In the morning (10.30-12:00) the basics of what type of wool and needles are best for sculpting will be explained, and then you will use some basic techniques to make the basic sculpt of your mole. We will break for lunch and an opportunity to get some fresh air in the grounds at 12.00, then we will return at 13:00 to finish our moles and add the finer details. Note that as Wightwick Manor is a historical venue, some floors may not be level, and you will have to negotiate a flight of stairs. Booking is essential.

What's included in the price?

- All wool and materials needed to make your mole are provided. - Lunch is not provided, please bring a packed lunch or bring funds to purchase from the on site cafe. - Admission to Wightwick Manor and gardens is included and you may stay up until closing once the the workshop finishes (please check the National Trust website for opening times).

Natalie is a fine artist that has been using needle felting as a part of her practice since 2015. Natalie uses felting in both 2D and 3D works and has had work shown nationally including the RBSA, Society of Equestrian Artists, Wolverhampton Art Gallery and The New Art Gallery Walsall. Notable exhibitions include National Trust owned Beningbrough Hall's "Oh Wise Owl" sculpture trail in 2017. In 2018 she was selected for the "Character Portrait Project" through Midland Film and Arts. She was part of the George Stubbs inspired exhibition at Normanby Hall and Country Park in 2024. Natalie currently has work on display at The Art Yard in Cradley Heath and The Coventry Open at The Herbert Gallery from 28th March-8th June 2025. Natalie is also the creator of the fun and quirky Roly Poly Ponies and runs regular workshops for all levels.
