Description

In this workshop we will combine watercolour effects with hand-pressed linocut blocks. We will start the day by experimenting with spritzing crystalline watercolours. Many unexpected and unpredictable, dripping and textural effects can be created and this part of the day is about enjoying the surprises! These will become the backgrounds to your own linocut blocks which can be creatively arranged onto your experimental surfaces. The next stage will be to design and cut your own linocut blocks, there will also be a range of pre-cut blocks available in the workshop to supplement your own blocks if needed. I will take you through all the stages step-by-step to recreate the layered effects I use in my own artwork. Please bring along images of your favourite plants and flowers for inspiration. A range of images will also be provided on the day. Timings: - 9.50am for a 10.00am start. - 13.00 lunch. - 15.45 finish.

Maker

I aim to provide relaxed, friendly and fun workshops combining my experience from fashion/textiles printing and many years teaching GCSE and A level students in their Fine Art and Textile studies. It's all about exploring possibilities with colour, shape, layers, pattern and textures - which I love to do within my own work, creating a range of prints and collages on paper, fabric and cards.
