Description

Looking for a creative escape, a hands-on adventure, or just a day to have fun, learn new skills, and make something beautiful? Join us for a full-day crafting experience like no other! Whether you’re a complete beginner or a seasoned maker, this lively, interactive workshop will guide you through four distinctly different crafts and you’ll take home a finished piece from each one. We’ve designed this experience to be dynamic, diverse, and deeply satisfying. You’ll rotate through a minimum of four mini craft sessions, each offering a unique medium and technique to explore. The crafts will vary slightly throughout the year to reflect seasonal themes and materials, but here’s what we’re currently featuring: ✧ Resin Jewellery Making Dive into the mesmerizing world of resin! In this session, you'll learn how to create bold, colourful, and eye-catching pieces of jewellery—or decorative objects—using epoxy resin. We’ll explore how to embed items like dried flowers, charms, glitter, and more into your pieces, and how to play with colour and transparency for amazing effects. Perfect for gifts or statement pieces you'll be proud to wear! ✧ Personalized Copper Crafting This hands-on session teaches you how to cut and shape real copper into either a beautifully handcrafted bracelet or a charming garden plant marker. Once shaped, you'll personalize your piece by stamping names, inspirational words, or fun phrases. It’s a great introduction to working with metal, and you’ll walk away with a rustic, elegant item that’s truly yours. ✧ Creative Decoupage Discover how to transform ordinary surfaces into stunning works of art using the classic technique of decoupage. With decorative papers, printed images, glues, and your imagination, you’ll learn layering, sealing, and finishing tricks to turn anything from trays to jars into stylish, textured creations. It’s relaxing, expressive, and so satisfying! *Water Marbling Dive into the mesmerizing world of water marbling in this fun and hands-on workshop! Learn how to create swirling patterns on water and transfer them onto paper or other materials to make your own unique marbled designs ✧ Bonus Craft (Time Permitting): Image Transfer Magic If we have time, you’ll also learn how to transfer computer printed photos or images directly onto wood or other surfaces. It’s a fantastic way to create personalized gifts, rustic wall art, or keepsake boxes using just a printed image and a bit of technique. Or *Wax Seal Stamp Mini Workshop Discover the timeless art of wax sealing in this creative, hands-on mini workshop! Learn how to melt and pour sealing wax, press your own stamp, and explore fun ways to use wax seals on letters, gifts, and crafts. As part of the session, you'll also make your own rustic wax stamp using scrap materials and tree branches Or ✧ Foam Fish Sculpting Let your inner child play in this fun and slightly quirky session! You’ll sculpt, cut, carve, and decorate your own foam fish (or sea creature) using shaping tools, paints, and a bit of whimsy. This session is perfect for loosening up and experimenting with form, colour, and texture in a light-hearted way. What to Expect: This is a fast-paced, energetic, and joy-filled day of crafting. Because some projects need time to dry or set, we’ll keep moving between stations—meaning no waiting around, just constant creativity. You’ll stay engaged, inspired, and amazed by what you can accomplish in a single day.

Maker

Scott has been upcycling furniture for many years, but it was only after family and friends asked how they could make the inventive pieces in his home that Scott first started sharing his skills. Over 7 years later Scott continues to host a number of Black Paw upcycling experiences in his workshop, helping people to create their own pieces of upcycled furniture and learn the skills needed to upcycle at home.

You’re welcome to take photos during the course, but please check with other students before including them in your pictures. Photos can be a great way to record techniques, ideas, and options—we encourage you to take them so you have a helpful reference when working at home later.

From time to time, Black Paw may also take photos during sessions to share on pages. If you prefer not to be photographed, just let us know at the start of the session and we’ll make sure your wishes are respected.

Black Paw takes safety very seriously and we provide all necessary PPE, including gloves, dust masks, and eye protection. On some of our courses, PPE is compulsory; on others, it may be optional depending on the activity. While we do everything we can to create a safe environment, you are ultimately responsible for your own actions and any issues that may arise from them. You are expected to follow all safety instructions throughout the course. We reserve the right to ask anyone to leave if they do not follow the safety rules.
Before the course starts, you’ll be asked to sign a consent form confirming that you understand the safety guidelines and that you’re physically fit to take part.

Our courses start at 9:30am and usually finish between 4:00pm and 4:30pm.
We’ll have short breaks in the morning and afternoon, with lunch happening sometime between 12:30pm and 2:00pm, depending on the natural pause point in whatever we’re working on.
🚨 Important: Please arrive on time. If you arrive late and have missed the safety briefing, or if arriving would cause a disruption to the session already in progress, we may have to turn you away.

Under 18’s can take part if accompanied by a parent or guardian also on the course (one adult with each child), but only with prior agreement.

Unless specified we provide all the materials, tools, and guidance you’ll need—just bring your lunch, plenty of enthusiasm, and a willingness to try something new!
