Description
Darning, patching and sashiko techniques for your favourite garments. Join us for this day course where we will cover various visible mending techniques such as darning, patching and sashiko. Starting with samplers to practice on, we can then talk through any particular areas of damage you need to fix on your garments and figure out the best mends for them. At a glance: - Learn how to use visible mending to mend the clothes you love and save them from being sent to landfill. - Experiment with traditional mending techniques such as darning and sashiko and learn how to apply them to different types of fabric. - Create samplers to practice techniques before moving onto mending your favourite garments. - Refreshments and nourishing two-course lunch included. What you will gain: - A supportive and gentle teaching approach with the space and freedom to learn at your own pace. - A chance to slow down and get creative with skills that can be used to turn your clothing into a wearable scrapbook. - Gain confidence in using these hand sewing skills for future repairs. - Your own visible mending kit to take home with you.
