I am a professional artist and fully qualified teacher with a BA (Hons) in Fine Art and a PGCE specialising in Post-Compulsory Art & Design teaching. I have over 18 years experience working in arts education, most recently as a course leader in FE, and now work as an independent tutor and artist running workshops throughout the year in Sussex, UK. I teach at various venues including West Dean College, Hove Museum and the beautiful Paddock Studio in historic Lewes. My classes are suitable for both beginners and those wishing to revisit and develop their printmaking skills. I keep group sizes small to allow everyone space to work in a relaxed, friendly, environment and I am on hand to offer practical advice and encourage an experimental approach to printmaking alongside tips for continuing your work at home.
FAQs
Sorry, no. The venue is only insured for people aged 16+
There are 5 car parking spaces outside the studio that are free and for everyone’s use, on a first come first served basis. Please note however that the access road is narrow and one way, so if you have a large vehicle you may find it easier to find alternative parking. There are nearby residential roads with on street parking (pay by phone). During the weekend you can park in the nearby County Hall car park (3 minute walk away) which is £1 to park all day on Saturdays, and free on Sundays.
The train station is approximately 15 minutes walk away, and the nearest bus stop on Lewes high street is approx. 3 minutes walk.
I suggest you bring an apron or old shirt to protect your clothes as printmaking can be messy. Gloves and hand wash are provided.

The studio is located upstairs on the first floor of an old timbered building. There is a stair lift if required. Any equipment (e.g. walking aids or wheelchairs) would need to be carried up the stairs (the tutor will be able to assist). If you have any further accessibility needs please contact the tutor in advance to discuss.
